it was a credible local reporter (backed up by colin, so that was an additional way of addressing the authoritativeness of the source), refuting reports from non-local reporters... its not unreasonable to think the local beat reporter may have some team sources himself...
Houston is a suburb of Nashville?
people hear what they want to hear...
So true....
my bad for misreading city... i was focusing more on reporter talking directly to fisher, & wrongly thought he was local beat reporter... perhaps he has ties to organization from their history in previous city...these are still questions that TEN (& HOU) homers could address... is mclain more wired into TEN club than a random reporter might be from alaska or mongolia? does he have previous pattern of deceit & being mouthpiece of the club? or conversely, has his reporting been generally acknowledged after the fact as accurate?
in my case, following rams closely, i listen closely to what jim thomas (sporting news) & howard balzer have to say about the organization... they are usually right...
* this was business part of post #50 by colin that also caused me to mistakenly infer he was local reporter... i wasn't accounting for fact that he may know a lot about team from PREVIOUS ties to organization...
"JM is more in the know w/ the Titans then most any other reporter with any other team."
in this case, the truthfulness of report, if accurate, is probably of more importance to white owners than geographical point of origin...
i'm sure there is nothing in this thread that would cause those down on him to see things differently... & probably vice verce...
i cited thomas & balzer, who i'm pretty sure are local STL jouranlists, as important sources for rams info... but balzer has written about the league at large, & i have found him to be generally accurate about wider league matters... this could be through cultivating good insider contacts over many years, both in the rams & from other teams around the league...
if multiple sources step forward & claim that mclain is wrong a lot about TEN matters, then i stand corrected... but in the absence of that, i'm going to side with what i have read & not what i haven't (about the authoritativeness of mclain as a TEN source)... there have been more than one vouchings in his favor in this thread... no credible ones i've heard yet claiming to the contrary (or even non credible ones

)...
