Who are your top 5 QBs never to win a Super Bowl? (1 Viewer)

Replying before I get started reading the Thread:

:clap:Great off-season topic , @JohnnyU  - Love these kind of discussions picking up just as the redraft season is winding down. This one's gonna be a lot of fun to read!

Delmar Gabb - led the Sheboygan Bulldogs to three straight title games, winning one (a 4-0 victory over the Kenosha Maroons)

Willard Jephcots - revolutionized the game when he invented the forward pass, a highly controversial play at the time

Lemuel Toll - led the league in passing 7 times; retired with a then-record career total of 1,629 passing yards

Cornelius “Curlytoes” McCumsock - considered the first true dual-threat QB who could beat you with his arm or his legs, able to pass for a touch-down or kick the ball through the opposing goal at any moment

Matt Hasselbeck

I thought this was a serious post until I saw Hasselbeck on the list.

Funny, but this thread has taken a turn. Oh well, you can only mention the same players for so long before it gets ridiculous. Probably time to put it to bed. It has run its course.

What??? I mentioned the top 5 GB Packers QBs to never win a Super Bowl…….those are my personal top 5 to never win……

Vinny Testeverde could be an honorable mention. I think the first post nails it. But 6-10 could include
Cunningham
Testeverde

Here is a list sorted by career AV. Most of these guys have been named. Jurgensen, Brodie, Tarkenton, and Gabriel spent significant portions of their career before the SB, but they each had some productive years early in the SB era (including some SB appearances and deep playoff runs) so I think they should be considered. I don't know a ton about Brodie and Gabriel (other than to make sure I put their name into a lot of Sporcle quizzes), but they both look pretty impressive. Blanda's main QB years were prior to the SB and were in the AFL so I probably wouldn't consider him.

Maybe not top 5 but top 10ish

Randall Cunningham
1998 was magical until my neighbor missed that FG.

That was his first miss of the entire season right?
I can’t remember, but I do remember seeing him in his driveway when my wife and I would go on a walk. I suppose it would have been improper to yell “WIDE LEFT” as we walked past him. Anderson lived across the street on the corner and Jake Reed lived 2 doors down.
Yes, it was his only miss of the entire year.

1. Lamar Jackson - Soon to be the only multi-year MVP not win a SB.
2. Dan Marino - Longevity was impressive. Unbelievable start to his career.
3. Fran Tarkenton - He was the best QB in the world from 1964-1976. The first truly mobile QB.
4. Dan Fouts - He may have been a product of the system, but you cannot dispute his numbers.
5. Warren Moon - He would have retired as the NFL all-time leader in every passing category had he not began his career at age 28.
