Footballguy
hey everybody this is my first year with directv and the first thing i did was order the sunday ticket and the super fan package. my questions are this..

1) is it worth $300 bucks

2) what channels do the HD games come on. (I can only see the 700-7xx channels in my guide)

thanks for the info.

You should try to get a new subscriber deal. I got the ticket for $60 a month and they threw in 6 months of every pay channel as well... ([using my ad voice] "a $90 value").

I reallllly wanted to check out the superfan package it sounds reeeeeaaalllyyy cool. I just don't have the time to watch EVERY game that I want (wife hates me already). That 30 minute thing sounds really cool.

let us know your opinino.

Yes, it is worth every penney. You can go to the DirectTV website to see what games will be on HD each week.

There is also a feature so you can get an email each week with the NFL Sunday Ticket channel listing including games that will be in HD. They don't schedule what games will be on HD until 1-2 weeks before the actual games.

Thanks for posting this page. i don't understand this one:

Enhanced Games

With your DIRECTV interactive receiver you'll get detailed player and team stats, real-time scores and live updates from other games without missing any of the live action from the game you're watching.*

What's an interactive receiver? I have a HD DVR, dunno if that counts and if it does, how does one set this up?

How do I know if I have a DIRECTV interactive receiver? There are three different and easy ways to identify if you have a DIRECTV interactive receiver:

Look on the front panel of the receiver under the DIRECTV logo. It will display "DIRECTV Receiver D10, D11 or R15."

Look on the back panel of the receiver on the far right side. The sticker will display "Model: D10, D11 or R15."

Using your remote, select Menu, Settings, Info & Test, and the model number D10, D11 or R15 will be displayed on screen.

I don't use the enhanced as I don't like my screen shrunk down at all. I want the largest clearest picture I can get. I really like the shortcuts though as watching a game in 30 minutes is GREAT. the only think I hope this year they are in HD? Anyone know for sure?

I found it to be a waste of money

While its nice to have, I go to about 6 Bear games a year

That leaves 11 weeks of viewing

There's always about 3-4 weeks of family related activities that take me away from the TV on Sunday.

Now more than half of the season is gone

Then there's always the Sunday that everyone's watching the games at a friend's house, so you go there. That probably accounts for about 2-3 weeks a year.

When it was all said and done, I was getting about 5 weeks a year where I could sit down in my own house and enjoy the luxury that is the NFL ticket.

Just so you know, your local market games will be blacked out on Sunday Ticket...including the HD games. To get them in HD you'd need to receive them OTA or have a mpeg-4 receiver and subscribe to your local channels.
