Who has more upside this year..M. Colston or D. Gabriel? (1 Viewer)

Colston looked good and had 8 targets along with a touchdown. Gabriel hasn't played a down, and people are saying he could be the Pats #1 guy. In N.O. Colston is competing with Bush and Horn for looks. Gabriel is competing with Watson, Brown and Caldwell. Which of the two WR's will have a better fantasy year?

The one that's not on your league's waiver wire. What's that you say? They're both on your waiver wire? Imagine that. You have a decision to make.

thanks for your enlightening input.

I already have gabriel in our 16 team/ 26 roster spot league.....we have our weekly waiver draft tonight and i'm thinking of picking up colston.....colston has a lot of upside, but you have to be concerend about the saints offense and the fact that the guy has no experience. he does have the physical tools... i'm also looking at picking up cotchery from the jets, similar upside IMHO......if you have the choice, i would go for gabriel..........go for both if you can :loco:

moosecats,

as you know, in NE with Tom Brady, EVERYONE gets the ball there... including some defensive players (i.e. Mark Vrabel)... so going with gabriel he would give you some great weeks, and some goose eggs...

with Drew Brees in NO, his main targets in SD were Keenan McCardell and his big target Antonio Gates... i feel that Horn is going to take the McCardell role, and Colston is going to be Brees' Antonio Gates, Brees has been quoted to 'be in love' with Colston's big play ability on third downs making him a reliable option for him consistently. At 6'4", whats not to love?

If both were on the free agent wire, and you needed help at WR and have a spot, I would definitely pick him up... i already have!

The Brees comments on Colston make me think he will indeed be targeted QUITE A BIT this year. Like someone else said, Colston may fill the Gates role as far as Brees is concerned. Plus, the fact that N.O. traded Stallworth says something about what THEY think of the kid.

I picked him up and am starting him as my WR3 until Branch plays.

Givens considered himself a #1 WR and you saw his numbers in that NE system, so draw your own conclusions about how well Gabriel can do versus Colston. I'd take Colston over Gabriel, personally.

I think the better question is who will be better of Colston and Cotchery?2 guys that alot of people grabbed off the WW this week. Cotchery had 10 targets (caught 6 for 65 and a TD) to Coles' 10 targets (caught 8 for 153), while Brees targeted Horn 7 times (caught 2 for 25) and Colston 8 times (caught 4 for 49 and a TD).Brees has stated that he really likes Colston. Could we see a rookie WR take over as the #1 in NO?? Will Pennington keep looking to Cotchery as often as he has been lately?
