Who is rolling with the Flying Frenchman this week? (1 Viewer)

Summer Wheat

Can a well rested Pierre Thomas be the key for RB starved teams? Ivory is dealing with hammy issues so the door is open. It seems that the players that come back late in seasons are a step faster than the guys who have been battling hard all year.

Any predictions?

You might want to put Thomas' name in the title of this thread. I own Thomas and he is looking like he might be a strong play, if Ivory can't go. As for me starting him; it is between him, Garcon, or J. Stewart, as my flex; and I just don't know yet.

I was at the Dome last week and PT looked slow and not up to game speed. Ivory looked far better before he got hurt. I am not sure what Ivorys injury status is but if he plays you are crazy to roll with PT IMO.

If Ivory sits, i am starting Thomas over Mendenhall in PPR. It seems that Mendy needs 30 touches to make things happen, I would rather gamble on Thomas at least catching 5 or 6 passes.

going with blount, tho i considered it. proly woulda rolled pierre over TO but i made a tactical lineup error, shoulda moved vjax to wr and TO to flex.

I read they were planning on using him on kickoff duty. Not a great sign.
Whom, Thomas?
Yeah, I think I read it on cbs.
But additionally, Saints head coach Sean Payton said he's looking at giving Thomas some kickoff-return duties this week, typically a sign that a player will see limited offensive reps because he's participating on special teams. The Ravens are allowing RBs to average just 13.9 Fantasy points per week, which is sixth-lowest in the NFL.

Wow, that really is not a great sign, at least not for the long-term; could possibly be useful for this week. I would almost think NOR would rather have Bush in that role. Do you think that Payton is just floating this balloon out there? Thomas could be a real difference maker for them in their play-off run, I can't imagine they would risk an injury to him on a special team assignment. All in all; with BAL D coming to town, him just off a lengthy injury list visit, Ivory's status, and what I feel is a strained relationship in NOR, I just don't get the feeling that I want to bet a play-off game on him. If Ivory is definitely out, then I would feel a lot better about playing him. He is a good back and does have a history of coming back from injuries strong (at least what was posted on a previous thread I had about Thomas). Maybe all the extra snaps he took last week, and the ST assignment, is Payton's way of telling him he isn't going to get any less work in by having dogged it on the injury list. I can't imagine that after waiting 10-11 weeks for this guy they would burn him out so quick. NOR either loves Ivory or feels that they need to get a now healthy Thomas on the field as much as possible; I will have to check my tea leaves for that answer.

Bloom is overly strong on Thomas this week with him raked as RB22, where as Dodd has him ranked as RB29; they both have been moving him up the rankings all week. The BAL match-up still looms large for me.
