Who is the backup TE in Dallas? (1 Viewer)

Jason Witten reportedly suffered a high left ankle sprain in the Cowboys' Week 13 win over the Colts. The "high ankle sprain" description is rarely thrown around loosely, but it's essentially buried in the third paragraph of an ESPNDallas.com report about Dez Bryant's Monday ankle/fibula surgery. Witten returned to Sunday's game and caught a two-yard touchdown pass after the injury, so we'd imagine it's about the mildest form of a high ankle sprain possible. Witten, who hasn't missed a game in his career, played through a partially torn MCL earlier this season. We'd bet heavily that he'll start against the Eagles.

I realize that people like to be the first to post something on here and all. Good for you.

But do you really not know who the backup TE is for Dallas? Not saying I know all the backup TEs in the league but have you never heard of Bennett?

Just because Bennett is the league's biggest no-name Prima Donna doesn't mean he has suddenly become a household name. :ptts:

Witten said he was fine and also He came back into the game caught a td and after told reporters he was fine and had no limp...I think he has a mild sprain .

Witten will play... he plays through all pain. High, low... doesn't matter.
I am not sure if you are joking or not. But nobody plays through a high ankle sprain.
Except Jason Witten. Yesterday.
There is a difference between suffering it during the game, getting a shot, running off of adrenaline, gritting it out threw a game, and playing with a high ankle sprain after the swelling and everything sets in.

One can have a mild high ankle sprain.

It is being reported as an ankle sprain (without the high). Garrett say he may miss a little practice, but fully expects him to play vs. Philly.
