Who will be the hot free agent everyone will be scrambling for next we (1 Viewer)

Trying to get a head start on weekly waiver wire moves...who is currently on your WW that will be the hot commodity by next Tuesday?

Please leave all of the "I can't believe he's on your WW, I wish I played in that league" comments at the door. TIA.

For sure it will be one of the wash rbs. Whichever one carries the load this week.

Also I think Kendall wright will be a hot commodity after torching the NE secondary. He might be cools gold though given britts return...or maybe not if he plays in the slot and has a connection with locker.

I would absolutely hate to see this happen but if Kevin smith reagrivates that ankle and one of the lions backups comes in and provides a spark it could be that guy (Kirkland Williams or joique bell).

Kyle Rudolph could be big.

I've picked up Jermaine Gresham off the waiver in two leagues, which seems surprising. He should be a low TE1 and startable, but if nothing else about the best backup TE you could get.

Undoubtedly, it will be a backup RB to a starter that gets hurt.

But outside of injury, my baseless guess is the St. Louis Steve Smith.

Laurent Robinson. His lackluster preseason kept him firmly in the shadow of Blackmon, but those in need of WR will jump on him after he has a decent Week 1.

Most of the ones I have been thinking of have been said.

QB - Sam Bradford, John Skelton

RB - Jonathan Dwyer, Ronnie Hillman, Bilal Powell

WR - Steve Smith, StL, Brian Quick, Josh Gordon, Josh Morgan or Leonard Hankerson in Wash

TE - Lance Kendricks, Dallas Clark, Dwayne Allen

I think all of these guys have a shot at being heavy pick ups but will say Dwyer is my top favorite at this point.

Ronnie Brown. Not sure if he's been drafted in many leagues...haven't had mine yet.
Often the hot free agent is someone vaulted forward due to an injury, and of course predicting that injury is impossible. Some free agents on my watch list include:Steve Smith (StL)Blaine GabbertBill PowellJulian EdelmanMontarrio Hardesty

Smith or Amendola in STL

Laurent Robinson JAX

Bess or Hartline in MIA

Doug Baldwin SEA

Jon Baldwin KC

unfortunately, possibly the biggest pickup will be a RB handcuff of a top 12 RB who might be out for the season -- hoping it doesn't happen this season

Not based on his performance in Week 1, but a sneaky play in smaller leagues or thin bench leagues could be Jerome Simpson of the Vikings.

In preseason rankings based on my league setup, he was around WR 55-60 in Draft Dominator, and he was undrafted. But if you look at ppg after his suspension is done, he jumps to around 40-45. Just something to keep in mind...

I also predict a week one breakout for James Jones. Flying way under the radar and almost unnoticed.
I could see that, but wouldn't even put a claim in for him.Been teased/burned by this guy too many times over the past several years.
I hear you. Lot of mouths to feed on that Packer offense, but Aaron Rodgers has the ability to make room for more. Cobb is being touted by many as the sexy flier to own, but Jones has had the better camp. At least Bloom thinks so (read NFC North article "From the Gut"). Hey, I'm not pimping Jones either, but if we're talking about last round fliers and free agents, keep Jones on your watch list.

Stephen Hill - when in doubt, throw it to the big kid. I kind of think this game will be a shoot-out (though both have good DEFs), and Hill will likely get that obligatory 4-66 -1 TD line. If it is close, I see Bilal Powell as a hot FA pickup (though he tends to get drafted in the last round of every one of my drafts...usually be me...lol). I can see Jackson and Greene facing tough fronts as both teams dare the other to throw it, and Spiller (who will be drafted) and Powell (who may be an FA) to see a lot of check down balls their way.

Brandon LaFell, WR, CAR.

Two of LaFell's top three games came against TB last season. Steve Smith may not have his legs ready to go after a week on crutches. LaFell should have a few deep ball targets.

4 rec, 105 yds, 1 TD.

Drafted in my league but could be out there in many: Alshon Jeffery. I'm not hot on rookie WR's but sometimes they go big the first week. If this kid keeps his nose clean he will be an outstanding receiver by his third year.

This may be a little off the intent of the topic but another question is which of these hot pickups might sustain value?

I can see Braylon Edwards being a decent backup but I just don't see any high upside where I would ever want to start him for a week.

Zach Miller(sea), Braylon Edwards Greg Zuerlien (in long fg=xtra point leagues) and Rod Streater are my vote(s)

He was a viable #3 WR in 2010 and last year he was injured. I could see him having upside as a low level starter if he clicks with Wilson. Not going to be a "stud" but he could end up being mid 20's-early 30's.
