Last year in a keeper league I targetted several prospects, Weiters,LaPorta, Pedro Alvarez, Alcides Escobar, and Tommy Hanson, I had a list of about 10,

I got those 5, and during the season I added Garrett Jones, and Casey McGehee. So besides Strasburg, who would be on your short list this year? Leave a link,

I will answer yours.

Kind of hard knowing who to mention without knowing who other owners already have but some of the top names are Jason Heyward, Mike Stanton, Brett Wallace, Justin Smoak, Dominic Brown, Starlin Castro, Carlos Santana, Chris Carter, etc... as far as players that could surface at some point this year with a lot of potential.

I'll try to post a minor league llist

hmm:

Good choices:

Jordan Schafer, Jason Heyward, Fernando Martinez, Gaby Sanchez, Bud Norris, Mark Rzepzcinski, Fred Freeman, Justin Smoak, Buster Posey (molina?), etc

I only know the Orioles and I haven't seen any rankings yet.

Matusz and Tillman are set up to outpreform their draft spot. Both had some good experience in the majors last year and will both likely be facing bottom of the order opposing pitchers. They will be facing a lot of AL East opponents, but they're supposed to be our future so a lot of people around here have high expectations.

Reimold has some upside, while I think A Jones will go too high.

You think Patton will be more like his pre-surgery self this year? I assume he'll be at AAA out of the gates.

Taken from another O's website-He is still on this top 10 O's prospect list:

Patton has had some tough times and he no longer projects to be a top-of-the-rotation star like in his early Astros days. The southpaw has lost velocity thanks to injuries and he now projects as a solid back-of-the-rotation starter, if he can remain healthy. Now 24, Patton made 11 solid starts in double-A this past season and posted a 3.53 FIP. He moved up to triple-A, though, and got hit around and posted a 6.80 FIP. He allowed 62 hits in 44.2 innings and tossed up a home-run rate of 2.42 HR/9. If he cannot recover, Patton could be headed to the bullpen as a middle reliever, but he shouldn’t be written off quite

His 1.99 in AA was fantastic and then he goes up one level, after pitching in the Majors two years before, and just crumbles. A real enigma, certainly something to keep an eye in Norfolk this season. If his FIP had been under 4 at any point during his transition through Houston's system or he had a better K/9 I would be more optimistic but what that last thing he could afford was losing velocity. Still young, Patton could certainly get in back and polish his control, just more of a mountain than hill IMO. His ascent is certainly feasible nonetheless.

While he may not have any impact at all this season, almost assuredly not until after may 15th, but Aroldis Chapman might be worth keeping an eye on.

Had a pretty sick debut today. His 2nd inning of work, 2 K's and got out of the inning w/ 11 pitches. Oh yeah, and he touched 100 twice in that inning.
