If he wants a championship, why not consider San Diego. He will back up LT but lord knows they need a rb to spell LT. Sproles isnt the answer although based on 2007 they will use him in selective situations and obviously want to keep him fresh for the return game. Sign SA to a 1 year contract and let him show that he has something left while also playing for a title. Bolts dont have too many needs, RB is one of them but would let them defer a pick in 2008 to 2009 at rb. I dont think this will happen but anything is possible. Obviously if he wants the lead role, he will shop elsewhere.
 I never thought of them, but that would be his best shot at a championship and place where he would have a decent role. This would probably be better than San Diego using one of their few picks on a RB who likely won't be as good as Alexander.
I'm not sure why you think Sproles isn't the answer. As a #3 in 2007 behind THE BEST RB in football and arguably the best backup RB in the NFL he put up good #'s (4.4ypc and 2td's). Who's to say that he can't fill in for Turner given the opportunity? Hopefully we will find out because from what i've heard, the kid is a serious gamer with lots of intangibles.
I'm not saying never, but I don't think Alexander is the right fit for the Chargers' needs right now. They need a bruiser/punisher to contrast with LaDainian and Sproles. That's never been Alexander's thing. Also A.J. doesn't pay big money for free agents, especially ones who'll be riding the bench. I'll be curious to see what the Raiders do, because either Jordan or Rhodes would be a decent fit for the Chargers.
Actually thats a good point and I was thinking SA could fit that role bc of his size but then recalled that as of late, he hasnt been very good unless he wasnt touched. They do need a move the chains type. To the guy who commented on sproles, I like the guy and love him on the team but he isnt one to put in everytime LT needs a rest. Hes too small and I and probably every other charger fan would be very upset to lose him on the return end bc of a running play. Hes too valuable there. I still like LT and Sproles in a Split back set - both are solid receivers out of the backfield. Both of them with chambers, Gates and VJ would give D's fits.

Tampa bay would be a great fit for him and he can be used like Alstott was inside the 10 yard line a lot. I would think the Bucs would jump all over Shaun.

i was actually thinking pittsburgh would be a decent fit.

the last time they paired FWP with an out of shape, over the hill, short-yardage back, that worked out pretty well.
