Who will start at WR for Seattle now? (1 Viewer)

Hackett is gone to Carolina and Deion Branch may not be ready until a few weeks into the season. So who starts at WR for Seattle now? Will we see an Engram-Burleson combo? Will Courtney Taylor or Ben Obomanu step into a starting role?

This is a WR-friendly offense, so somebody is going to produce. The key is figuring out who it will be. Any Seahawks homers have a perspective?

Maybe DJax gets a chance to return if he would sign a cheap deal? I would think that in any case they will look to bring in a veteran on a cheap contract to compete. I doubt they would spend much seeing how cheap it could have been to bring back Hackett.

Majority of the year when healthy I see the fantasy value for this season out of Seattle looking like this: 1)Burleson, 2)Engram and 3) Branch.

Burleson is the best red zone guy on that team right now and with Hackett out of town and Branch coming off an injury he may surprise a lot of people this season in fantasy value. He quietly had 9 TD's last season. Engram is the safer pick in PPR leauges for sure, but in dynasty Burleson is intriguing at only 27 years of age and a 1000 yard season to his name and 2 seasons of 9 TD receptions. Burleson also might be a lot more comfortable in his third year in that complex west coast offense that Seattle runs.

I could be worng, but didn't Jackson burn a bridge or two once he was traded? I could be wrong, but think he did.

He probably won't. That, combined with the historical production of Seattle WRs makes this a meaningful topic.

Frank Hughes is a pretty bad beat reporter who very often puts his own spin on things as if they were said by the topic of his article. This speculation is only a "possibility" made pretty soon after the surgery. There have been many reports since then that his rehab is going well and even Ruskell has said things to the effect of expecting Branch back in the first half of the season. If Homgren had said that Matt might go on IR if he blew out his knee, Hughes would have a headline saying that Hass' knees were a concern for the upcoming season and and could land him on IR by season's end.
