Who's up against AJ Green tonight? (1 Viewer)

harryhood

Footballguy
Up against him in 3 Semi-Final match-ups, and just feel like he's gonna put up quite the performance tonight. For those of us looking ahead/projecting, what would be a moral victory tonight?

5\80\1?

I think I would take that and run. Something along the lines of 8/100/2 is entirely attainable. Good matchups all around for Cincy tonight.

:scared:

Considering Green carries the banner for the best team I've got, and best shot at $$ this season, I too boo your attempted jinxing.

I'm up against the Johnson twins (Calvin and Andre), so Green needs to go off...

Giddy up.

As someone who was not willing to take AJ at his ADP and auction value cost ($45 in many leagues! But obviously worth it this year), and therefore have him on 0 of 11 teams, I'm rooting against him. I'm definitely paying the price to get him in at least one league next year.

I don't know why I believed Julio would out perform Green this year. You can't beat a clear #1 elite talent on a team with an average to above average QB that spends a decent amount of time catching up. He has to be the #2 receiver off the board next year, with Marshall close behind.

Green will put up 18/345/4 in what is hailed by every single human being as the greatest game by an NFL receiver in history. Bank on it.

I'm playing against him. Already chalking him up for 60+ points. anything less than 60 would be a win.

I've been burned all year in Thursday night games with the exception of Moreno last week. I have no choice but to start Green. Really not sure who else you would start over him at this point - there's always the human element involved here where anything can happen and he may or may not have a big game.

:hey:

I'm facing AJ Green. :bye:

How bout we have a huddle tommorow morning to discuss post AJ Green stratergy?

I'm hoping that Cincy goes up big and lawfirm goes off and limiting AJ's upside. All I can hope for. :help:

Many AJ Green owners may be out after last week's performance. I beat the owner pretty handily. I was scared - he's a beast. Had a few uncharasteric drops. Bet he blows up.

I own him, and am hoping for a great game. Everyone seems to think players are not capable on Thursdays, but I don't really know why. There were some huge performances on Thanksgiving. Doug Martin had a great game on a Thursday. I am sure there are others. I think a lot of the time, the teams are either crappy, or they just are the kind that play each other tough, and therefore have low scoring. Probably why they are scheduled on Thursdays. I want to say that maybe the Browns and Ravens played on a Thursday, and Rice + Richardson had good games

As far as AJ goes. If you remember, he missed last Friday's practice for an illness. I don't know if it was ever disclosed what that illness was. However, if it was a flu or stomach bug, then he may have just been still sick, or weak.

I think he should be over it by now, so we should see him with a typical performance

He has been trending down the last few weeks. 9 straigt weeks with a TD then mediocre numbers. Thinking of going marshall and DX and benching him

I wouldn't! Here is a quote that I agree with
Philly's defense has been toasted for 12 catches, 229 yards, and three TDs by opposing No. 1 receivers Vincent Jackson and Dez Bryant the past two weeks. A.J. Green is better than both, and should have no trouble running by RCB Nnamdi Asomugha, and out-physicaling LCB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. Fantasy owners need to confidently shake off Green's season-worst Week 14 game (3-44-0) and start him as a top-five WR1 on Thursday. The Eagles have allowed the third most passing touchdowns in the league.

I love him - extremely jealous I have him NO WHERE in my long term leagues. Probably putting him on my must have list next year. Love watching the guy and his game. Last week would have been a nice line to look at if he holds on to that slant and walks into the end zone.Whats early predictions on this guy in 2013? Same value as Calvin(IE top 8 overall) had this year?

Ok, Ok, I'm facing him and I'll try to be positive by cherry picking some stats...

Some of AJ Green's bigger games this season have been away from home field.

I am going against Green in two playoff games. Suffice it to say, I am terrified that he is gonna go off like mad tonight. :scared:

I'll be playing solid D on this guy. Hoping to continue the pattern of Thursday night games.

BTW, what is the Thursday night pattern?Week 4. Boldin 9-131, and Torrey 6-97-1td

Week 5. Cards vs Rams (Can't expect much there)

Week 6. Wallace 2-94-1td, and Britt 4-62-1td, and Wright 6-71

Week 7. Seahawks vs 49ers (again, that was expected to be low scoring)

Week 8. Harvin 7-90-1td, and Williams 6-68-1td

Week 9. Bowe 8-79, and Floyd 4-48-1td, and Danario 3-61

Week 10. Shorts 6-105-1td, and Robinson 9-77, and Wayne 8-96

Week 11. Bess 6-50-1td, and Johnson 6-79 (Really didn't expect much thought did we)

Week 12. Thanksgiving gave some great ones. A.Johnson 9-188, C.Johnson 8-140-1td, Broyles 6-126, Pettigrew 8-74, Garcon 4-86-1td, Moss 4-42-1td, Bryant 8-145-2td, Witten 9-74, Vereen 2-91-1td, Welker 7-71-1td

Week 13. Saints/Falcons (HUGE DUD)

Week 14. Decker 8-88, and DT 5-83, and Streater 4-100, and DHB 5-82-1td

Been some pretty good production on Thursdays

I think the reason for his decline in production was that he started seeing a lot more double coverage - and of course you saw the WR2 start to get more production as a result.

I doubt that it took teams until week 13 or 14 to figure him out. Keeping up a TD streak like that for WR is almost impossible. I still think he was not 100% last week though

Right, but I remember the coaches talking about it a couple of weeks ago in their presser and said he was getting covered up more. I don't know if this was just coach-speak or what, because imo you would think he'd see double coverage from week 1.

Maybe. However, even though he was not scoring, he was still racking up the yards and catches. Until last week. It had to be something wrong with him IMO. He may have been puking for 2 days, and just was weak

I have Green, need a big game from. So don't fret non-Green owner. He'll probably but up a stat line 5 or 6 catches with 60 yards and No TDs. I am also an Eagles fan have never wanted them to suck more on defense than tonight. I am convinced the things that I want to happen don't so start celebrating! :banned:

AJ has faced double teams since he stepped onto an NFL field. The bottom line is he played a bad game last week and missed some chances. I don't think you can count on him dropping passes a 2nd straight week, but we'll see.

THis is what I am worried about. The guy seems to be trending down and I think there might be an undisclosed injury...

Nope, I didn't mean not 100% because of injury. He missed practice last Friday with an "illness". If that was a stomach bug, he was running a fever, then he could have still been feeling the affects of that on Sunday. I think he will be 100% by now. Plus, I don't really think he has been trending down. He just stopped the ridiculous scoring streak. Last week was a dud, but he has only had one other, and the following week he had a great game.

I am going against Green and Avant tonight. I can deal with Green going off because he is a stud but if Avant blows up too it will be a big kick in the nuts.

Well, there you go. You guys going against Green get what you wanted. Looks like it will be a Law Firm night, and not a passing night. Green's impact will be minimal

Sort of expected. Quick week and the Eagles tried to get a real defense. Actual have a competent pass defense and their front 7 is small. Hopefully they can keep AJ in some check.

Our only hope is h Bengals make his a laugher and they aren't passing much the 2nd half. I am shocked he hasn't scored 2 td's already.

Does not look like it is going to be his night
Only 1 qtr played. ..
This night will belong to Benny Ellis
Eagles just made it a game. More aj green to come
I am just more concerned with Dalton. He gets scared sometimes, and this looks like on of them. Kind of like he did against Pitt. He really did not target Green in that game. This looks similar

Not sure which game you are watching. Green is getting thrown to alot

This is the kinda night so far that sucks when you have him in non-PPR and are facing him in PPR. I was hoping for 3-80 and a TD
