Why has Olney edged out Gammons? (1 Viewer)

In a bit of an upset, after years of grooming Stark as the "go-to" inside baseball man after Gammons, this year, Olney is all over the joint as an insider. And this was a guy who was hardly has a reputation in his own hometown of NY. I know the anyerusm was a convienent cover to start sending Pete out to pasture, but its just not the same. Gammons is a Hall of Famer and has been the man for years. And he's a Sox homer, but as a Yank fan, I never minded it because he's the best. Olney is better than Stark, but he's not ready for the captains chair yet.

Could very well be Gammons choosing to cut back. But yeah, the more screen time he has the better.
 Keep in mind, the guy is coming off of major brain trauma. The guy is fortunate to be alive right now, any moment we see him on our TV from then and now should be considered a gift. I fully understand if Gammons is cutting back on his workload.

:goodposting: I'm actually surprised we are seeing him this much. I thought he'd be in the studio a lot this year but he's a guy that likes to be out on the field. I worked with a girl who interned for him for a year and she said he is the consummate professional and a hell of a nice guy. When she first told me my response was "Holy ####, are you serious?" She said I responded as if she had interned for Elvis. In my world, Gammons is Elvis.

I'm glad Gammons is just about gone. Hopefully gone with him are the days of spending 90% of his time talking about the Red Sox and Yankees. I only wish that another sports show would step up like BBTN on a different network that would focus more on the West Coast.
