Why is this place a ghost town? (1 Viewer)

This place is weird. Post too much and you're a troll. Don't post enough and this place is a ghost town.   :shrug:

An old guy once told me, "you can't please all the people all the time, so just stick to pleasuring yourself".

That should have had it's thread for discussion but it the thread was made, the response would have been, "You know we have thread for Netflix content, right?"

Joe, I'm not sure why I'm going to bother arguing here but saying something like "I think Carla Gugino is really attractive for someone in her late 40's" is nothing near something that would be considered "locker room talk".

You're new here so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. But since you wouldn't know yet, these forums are reserved for serious, adult, political, thought-provoking discussion only.

Think of these forums as the adult, anonymous internet board equivalent of your high school debate club. No fun allowed. Point, counterpoint, and so forth. This is what the site owner wants and has cultivated the culture here toward as of about 3 years ago. Deal with it or leave, as he would say.

 
What is there to talk about? Everything that there is to learn is known, everything has been discovered, if I need to know something I can just look it up on Google, Wikipedia or Snopes. Anyone with their own ideas about anything is obviously a paranoid radicalized lunatic wack job.

It's good that you don't get riled up and personalize everything in a wild attempt to justify your own perceived mistreatment or intransigence in the face of a changing society.

For sure @shuke  The problem is it never stops there. It turns into "would you...?" and "where can I find the nudes?" and goes downhill from there. 

 
I think the real crime here is that I can not reply to polls unless I vote in them first.  None of the options apply to me and I just want to share the story about the time I fell on a toothbrush in the shower!

That's the thing. 

So now we don't start. I'm with @Henry Ford when he said those threads always sort of felt like the crowd at the cheerleading competition when nobody was related to any of the girls cheerleading. It's just not what we're going to do here. I totally get it that it's cool on other boards. But this is how we're going to try and do things here.

What I really see is a bunch of uptight posters that really do need to relax with all this BS and enjoy this place.

People telling me what to do, are you kidding me?  I'm retired insurance sales, have grandkids, and I'm being told about how to.....hahahahaha~~~

I don’t think people are trying to control you.  They’re more trying to explain the best course of action for people to not actively dislike you off the bat.  But it’s definitely your call.

Step 3: Get offended when they call you on it

Step 4: Call everyone uptight and tell them to chillax 100 times

I remember when the trolls 'round these parts were at least clever.  Those were the days, man.

Nothing. Make some. 

During the heyday you'd get new threads every few minutes. We could use a new guy with energy to start some new stuff. Just make sure it doesn't surpass Bambi level of editing per Joe new rules

A busy day would have been 300-600 at any given time. Rarely got over 1000. Now we're in the 30-70 range. Looks like Joe's plan to shrink the FFA has worked

Then there is always reality.

Step 1....find another messageboard that looks interesting.

Step 2....post some interests looking to share some thoughts.

Step 3....find out thread making is some problem which is totally unique.

Step 4....question what is up with a messageboard where thread making is a no no

I remember posting messageboards where it was.....how about pulling your weight here, either start doing something besides leeching off everyone else,, or leave.
