Wildcard Game Thread - Atlanta Falcons at Arizona Cardinals (1 Viewer)

Mad props to the Cardinals, that was a nice game on all fronts. Good to see them having some success with the run, and seeing their defense make big plays to boot. Matt Ryan is going to be special, no doubt about that. But today the veteran team had the upper hand. I agree that Arizona will be hard pressed to win next week regardless of their opponent, but this was a successful season for a team that has long been a "sleeper" yet rarely played up to it.

Turn the ball over and give up big plays, we deserved to lose. Keith Brooking needs to be cut immediately, he's sucked all season.
Boley must really suck to get benched for those clowns. Linebackers were the suck all day for Atlanta. Edge ran all over them.

Boley has sucked, he's half the player he was last season. Curtis Lofton has at least shown promise as a rookie. They're going to overhaul the defense this offseason, I hope the first thing they do is let go of Brooking.

Congrats to Cards fans. Your team definitely bounced back and the defense and Edge certainly showed up well, much like earlier this season.

Atlanta will get better, they are a young team (but in a tough, tough division). That trio of Ryan, Roddy White and Turner will be good for several years.

Good Season given that most people thought we were gonna win 1 game in preseason. At least we have a good GM now that I trust can fix the defense.

Roddy White has turned into a dam good WR. Great hands, tough, runs hard precise routes.

This is the first time I have watched a whole Falcon game and I am impressed with White, plus the fact that Ryan leans on him will only make him more valuable next year.

He did drop that 40 yarder early in the game though. He also could've fought harder to break up one of Ryan's INT's... but Ryan to White should be a great combo for a long time.

Falcon fans have a very nice team to look forward too, what a great surprise for them after the recent turmoil. Whisenhunt really set up the right gameplan and the Cards showed up when they had too.

Cardinals could be dangerous next week.

I think the Cardinals are a very different team on the road in the cold... I could be wrong though.

:thumbup:I thought Whisenhunt had a good gameplan by getting the running game going early.

As good and surprising a season as this has been, it's a huge disappointment to see the Falcons give it away like that. I wish Keith Brooking all the best as he embarks on his broadcasting career next season.

Well, I did get a live broadcast on the plane, thank God it was NBC as Delta didn't have Fox. I think I might have had an air marshal watching me though, I may have gotten a little loud.

Kudos to Cards. They played better D than anyone thought they could and executed their game plan well. Turner never got going, and our overrated Oline was exposed. We had a chance, but Arizona caught a lucky break on the fumbled hand off and we never really seem to recover from that.

I was awfully disappointed in how we came out in the second half. After clawing our way back into the game, we came out in the 2nd flat as a pancake. But, they didn't pack it in, came back to make it close, and acquitted themselves fairly well. In the end, they played like the young inconsistent team that they are, and Arizona proved they belong in the playoffs. Looking forward to next year!

I know there aren't supposed to be victories in losing...but no Falcons fan can hold their head down. Matt Ryan won 11 regular season games this year. It took Tampa Bay more than a quarter century to do that as a franchise.

I'm not a fan, but this year was all win for Atlanta.

That was the loudest I've ever heard UOP stadium. Congrats to all the other Cards fans on this board. I'm pretty horse today, but it feels great!

:goodposting:

There isn't an Atlanta Falcon that Falcons fans hate more than Brooking. They hate him, and have for years.

Now I know why.
They don't speak for this fan. Time for him to retire? Yep. Hated him for years? Not even close. Tho, you're right, many fans have considered him a liability for at least a couple of years.
