I read this a little while ago and it certainly seems to have some merit if CBS is reporting it.

A league source tells the Boston Globe's Shalise Manza Young that Patriots NT Vince Wilfork has been diagnosed with a torn Achilles' tendon. If true, it means Wilfork's season is over, and that the Patriots have a gaping hole on the front line of their defense.

Of course, this could all be a ploy to fool these guys from the game thread.
