Will Ladell Betts be Washington's starter next week? (1 Viewer)

Clinton Portis has a 'high ankle sprain', correct? Doesn't that usually translate into 'lots of time to heal' in the nfl?

Depends on the severity of it. It sounds like it's not too bad, though, since there is discussion about him playing this week. The thing with high ankle sprains, though, isn't so much that it keeps guys out. It limits their performance, and what they can do on the field. So I would guess Betts will pick up a few more carries, even if Portis plays (which he probably will, is my guess).

Time will tell. I don't think we'll know the answer until Saturday or gametime Sunday.

he did not practice all last week. Gibbs is taking a wait and see approach, if I was a Portis owner, I would do my best to secure Betts. If you haven't already.

A reporter in Washington said it was a "High Ankle Sprain" & I think the reporter only said that because he saw Portis in a walking boot after the game.

The Skins Trainer has only referred to it as an "Ankle Sprain".

I've read where Portis is out of the boot & walking without a limp. Portis has also said he will be on the field.

Can you share where you read this? Thanking you in advance...
