Will Revis cover Welker and NOT Moss? (1 Viewer)

It will be fascinating to see Revis on Welker. The best single coverage DB in the league against a guy who uses option routes based on coverage to get open. Should be fun.

If this happens, I expect big game from TE and possibly even Freddy Taylor!NE 31 JETS 12
Just how are the Jets going to score 12 points??????????????????????????????????
Funny, I predicted 31-10.The Jets will score a touchdown on the ground (LT2 from the 5) in their only effective drive. Otherwise they'll defend the run and Sanchez won't cope well.

I've got Jets only TD on a Cromarte missed coverage only to cut in front of Revis for a short Pick 6. (Though it may be called back on a Cromarte defensive holding call)

Still don't believe it. Revis covering the slot is a complete waste. I'll believe it when I see it. Since I won't see it, I won't believe it.

what does this do to the projections of Welker this week?
Roughly zero
Revis covering Welker does nothing to Welker projections?
Nope. Revis is banged up and on a short week. Start Moss and Welker with confidence.
I don't buy this at all. The idea all along was that Revis would leave Welker alone and he would go nuts only being covered by Wilson or Cromartie. If we knew for a fact he was covering Welker it would hurt his value. However, I don't believe he is going to be covering anyone exclusively.

Him covering the slot against most teams, I agree, is a waste. But against the Pats? Not so much, IMO.

I call pre-game BS. After what happened on Monday night, I just cannot see any way that Cromartie and THREE safeties are allowed to cover Moss. Cromartie is totally overrated and the Jets D will have to play to its strength. Revis is an outside cover man. He is not Deion Sanders.

Covering the slot is tackling more than covering. You can't stop the slot receiver from catching passes most of the time, even Revis, add in the fact it's Welker and it's near impossible. So, putting Revis on him makes no sense whatsoever.

wow.. you guys seem a little TOO sure that NE is just going to crap all over the NYJ
The jets are not gonna beat any good teams who protect the ball this year. They're getting way to much hype for signing a second rate corner and having a bunch of weapons they can't get the ball to. Plus now Jenkins is out? Game over. The qb sucks, the offensive scheme sucks, defense can't do it all.
Ya, the Ravens in 2000 had an AMAZING offense.ps: I don't like the Jets.
I'll take Trent Dilfer over Sanchez at this point...

No matter who covers Moss, you start him. About time Revis gave up a big play in the last year plus. Then again, Ginn did beat him deep last year.

M. Sanchez 19/28 214yards 2TD'swith a quarter to go.... O' and Jets are up by 7.... :goodposting:

lots of real short- sighted people feeling really stupid right now.

Jets have an incredibly tough game next week and a litany of new injuries to deal with. But anyone who thought this was a bad football team based on one 1 point loss flat out doesn't know football.

Pretty boy Brady got his lunch eaten in the 2nd half.

Just wanted to quote myself....I'm not even a Jets fan... But it always feels good when people who are adamant about a win (based on pure bias) get slapped.
