JJ's secret double reverse whammy plot.

Start a thread on Suggs - vs - Green.

Pump the snot outta Green.

Tell League mates about this wonderful new FF site that he's discovered and direct them to the Suggs - vs - Green thread.

Come draft day JJ scoops up Suggs, THE PLAYER HE SECRETLY WANTED ALL ALONG, for next to nothing in his League. ;)
I admire that about JJ :hophead:

In other Late Breaking News:Soothsayer extraordinarie, JJ Evans, has looked into his Magic 8 Ball. His Press Releases are eagerly awaited by NFL fans around the country. One breathless groupie was heard to exclaim, "He's better than Madame Cleo...and he really is from Jamaica."..."We love you JJ!."Besides proclaiming Boldins' injury to be season ending, despite expert medical opinion pointing out that it's more an 8 to 12 week injury, JJ's PR also states that William Green will win the hotly contested RB job outright, in Cleveland. "My Magic 8 Ball never lies."... states JJ. "That Suggs kid is a bum", "My boy Green is gonna do a number on that no talent hack." You read it here first folks, straight from the Horses A.S.S...I mean Mouth. No RBBC in Cleveland. Cleveland's supposedly reformed drunken dope addict pin cushion RB William Green is now firmly entrenched as the starting RB for the Browns. :loco:

William Green is the man in Cleveland come Week 1. Expect to hear the usual rhetoric from Butch Davis throughout the summer....."William needs to earn his job back"....."William has a lot to prove to the team"...."William needs to get things straight in his life".....etc. Don't kid yourselves though, William Green is the starting RB come Week 1 and is exactly the kind of power RB that Butch Davis has wanted to feature in his offense. Butch Davis stuck with William Green during the tough times and has no intentions of sitting him at this point. Lee Suggs lacks size, power, and durability....but he'll make for a nice change of pace back to give William Green a breather every now and then, much to the dissapointment of Lee Suggs owners.
So Green is "exactly the kind of power RB" Cleveland needs while Suggs "lacks size and power"?Green is 6'0" and 215Suggs is 6'0" and 210Suggs has shown he has nose for the endzone, setting collegiate records that Green never topped though both played in the same conference.I am going with Suggs here as he has done well in his opportunity, limited thought it was. Green blew goats in both of his chances.

Suggs Gets 2 TDs, Browns Beat Lions 17-10

JOE MILICIA

Associated Press

CLEVELAND - Jeff Garcia got the Cleveland Browns into the end zone and helped them to a preseason victory they really wanted. After failing to score a touchdown in their exhibition opener last week, Lee Suggs ran in untouched for two scores and the Browns beat the Detroit Lions 17-10 Saturday.

Garcia led the much-improved offense, going 5-for-7 for 55 yards, including a 25-yard completion to Kellen Winslow Jr. on third and 13. The rookie tight end turned and leaped to make the tough catch before his head was driven into the turf.

Suggs scored from 8 yards out on the next play to make it 7-7. That was quite a difference from last Saturday when Garcia was 3-of-5 for 23 yards in three series of a 24-3 loss to Tennessee.

This time, it was the Lions' turn to sputter on offense. Then they couldn't stop Cleveland's running game.

One of the few bright spots for Detroit was running back Kevin Jones, who gained 29 yards on six carries in his first action this preseason. The rookie, out last week because of a hamstring injury, outplayed Artose Pinner and Shawn Bryson.

Rookie wide receiver Roy Williams again failed to make a catch. Lions quarterback Joey Harrington threw several balls his way but they were either high, behind him or at his feet.

Harrington went 5-for-12 for 45 yards and a touchdown to Charles Rogers. His backups weren't much better as Mike McMahon was 11-for-17 for 86 yards, and Rick Mirer was 0-for-3.

Suggs again showed there's no reason he should lose the job as Cleveland's starter in the backfield.

He rushed for 63 yards on six carries, including a 25-yard scamper to the wide open right side in the second quarter for his second touchdown. William Green averaged four yards a carry and recovered his own fumble.

Browns coach Butch Davis wanted improvement on special teams and got it in the form of a 56-yard kickoff return by Dee Brown and a blocked field goal by defensive tackle Gerard Warren on Jason Hanson's 48-yard attempt.

Winslow also came close to blocking a couple punts.

The Browns looked inept early as Garcia fumbled the snap on the Browns' third play from scrimmage.

The Lions quickly capitalized with a 10-yard touchdown pass from Harrington to Rogers, who jumped for the high throw and showed great concentration - juggling it slightly before pulling the ball in.

Detroit backup kicker Chris Snyder made a 21-yard field goal attempt to make it 14-10 with 3:25 left in the third quarter. Derek Schorejs increased Cleveland's lead to 17-10 with a 38-yard field goal with 4 minutes left.

The Browns sustained several injuries: defensive back Chris Crocker left with a concussion after a helmet-to-helmet collision with tight end Casey FitzSimmons in the third quarter; defensive back Michael Lehan (foot) and offensive lineman Joaquin Gonzalez (ankle) also left in the second half.

Detroit linebacker James Davis limped off with a right ankle injury in the second quarter.

Notes@: The Lions were without seven defensive backs, including all four starters: Dre' Bly (hip), Fernando Bryant (hamstring), Brock Marion (shoulder) and Brian Walker (knee). ... LBs Chaun Thompson (wrist) and Brant Boyer (foot) and OL Melvin Fowler (ankle) were among the notable inactive players for the Browns.

END

Both RB's had 6 carries each.Suggs got the majority of his carries going against the Lion's 1st string D.Green got the majority of his carries going against the Lion's 2nd string D.Suggs = 6 for 63 with a long of 25 & 2 TD's.Green = 6 for 24 with a long of 9 & 0 TD'sIt's still too early to call it with 100% certainty, but I'd say the Fat Lady is definitely starting to warm up those vocal cords of hers.

LOL....This Suggs vs. Green thing amuses me to no end.The funny thing is Green could win the battle, and then be suspended for the season by Week One. Wouldn't touch the guy with a 50 yard stick.

green is trade baitas his ADP plummets his value  my bet is he doesn't end the season on the browns roster-ws
NO NFL GM is going to trade for a guy one blown piss test away from a one year suspension. Then again.... Miami still needs a RB. :)

I saw a replay of one of Sugg's TDs. He just swept around the right side and there wasnt any defensive player anywhere close to him the whole run. I'm pretty sure Green, James Jackson, or anybody else could have done the same thing. That's the only play I got to see. Regardless of who wins the job, Cleveland's running game looks to be considerably better than it has been in years.

Bump to get reaction from the Green camp.I missed the game, just saw the stats. As a Suggs owner in a keeper league, the stats are beautiful. But how did he look?

Both of Suggs' TD's were sweeps around the right end that were barely contested. The first he outran a couple of defenders to the corner, the 2nd nobody was anywhere close. Any of the Browns' backs could've scored on those runs. That's not to say that Suggs isn't the best back on the roster, just putting those carries in perspective.

disagree on the 1st run, agree on the 2nd. I don't think Green would have scored on the 1st TD. My mother would have scored on the 2nd.

What's your mom's ADP? I'm looking for a sleeper RB.

just ahead of Ron Dayne, which is about right.
....look for Dayne and your Mom just below Fred Lane in the latest rankings...

What the heck happened here?
See posts #222 and #223 in this thread.Edit: Unless that was a more generic question, whispered into the mod-less abyss, as a tear ran down your cheek.

In that case, I can only shrug and sigh.
