Winslow news? (1 Viewer)

Saw that he practiced a bit earlier in the week but still Questionable. Anybody have some insight if he is a start Sunday? If he does, it's looking like he will be Questionable most weeks with the Browns resting him some during the week.

This is from Football Diehards:Per Bob Harris, Posted Friday October 6, 2006 @ 16:32 PT

According to the team's official injury report, running back Reuben Droughns (shoulder) and receiver Joe Jurevicius (ribs) practiced Friday for a third-straight day. And while both are listed as questionable, they are expected to start and play as usual Sunday.

The same goes for tight end Kellen Winslow, who was held out of full-team drills all week in order to rest his surgically-repaired knee.

As I've explained in the past, it looks like team officials are more interested in seeing Winslow get it done on Sundays than during the week.

That said, given Winslow's questionable status and lack of practice time, I'll continue to follow his status closely and let you know of any changes in as timely a manner as possible.

I'll certainly be looking to bring you the local perspective on this one early tomorrow.

Errictspikes, I hope this helps.

Sorry no link to this as I heard it on local radio.WKNR's Bob carlavick(don't know if spelled correctly) reported that winslow did not practice today. However the perception is that he will start. He practiced very little last week and IMO this will continue the rest of the year.Barring a major setback, I figure he will start weekly, getting as much rest as possible between games.

So if they aren't draining it, and it's not causing him to pull out of games... think of it this way...Your knee is recovering..... do you work it every day of the week, or a few days week? Why work the kid everyday of the week? SERIOUSLY... not to go Iverson... but is Winslow missing a bunch of practice effecting his game play???? Moreover, is it effecting his game play fantasy-wise? He's gaining separation, not dropping many gimmie passes, and isn't blowing blocking assignments. Getting open, and asking for more. Can someone lay claim that the days Winslow has missed, regarding practice, hurt his game day play, .. if so, then this kid is off the charts of "if"s and "should"s....

Have a half hour to submit lineup...anyone?
He has been questionable all year, and will continue to be so for the rest of the year. He has scar tissue in his knee that swells after the games, so they give him the week off so that he can be an impact player the following week. He will likely play unless it moves to doubtful or you see talk of his gimpiness above and beyond simply having swelling. I know this isn't link info, but I have him too and have kept abreast of the situation.

this is the latest I could find:

Scott Petrak, of the Medina Gazette, reports Cleveland Browns TE Kellen Winslow Jr. (knee) practiced Friday, Oct. 6, and is expected to play in Week 5.

Seems like we'll have this debate every week.

Unless there's a regression during the week on his knee or an additional injury, I'll probably leave him in my lineup.

Sitting Watson this week (w/ Graham out) in favor of Winslow.
