Apparently everyone read the same Rockies roster update that I saw this morning!

didn't see anything. what did it say?

Basically, Morales will be the top lefty out of the 'pen, Herrera is definitely on the team and Rosario could easily be the backup catcher.

Well, I didn't know that on Rosario...last I read on Monday was that he was getting sent down, but that you could expect a Sept callup. I really just wanted his arm.

Rosario is still coming back from a torn ACL from pretty late last year, so he'll definitely need most or all of the year in the minors to see how well he holds up behind the plate. He destroyed AA pitching before he got hurt last season, so depending on how he rebounds he could definitely get a cup of coffee this year.

Well, crap. I almost took Herrera last night, but there was nothing yet that said he was definitely on the team.

He's outplayed Jose Lopez by a pretty wide margin this spring. I still think Lopez is more likely to end up as the everyday 2nd baseman, and Herrera will be a Jamey Carroll type utility player and defensive sub.

Loney is not yet 27, and has put up back-to-back-to-back seasons over 640 PAs. Viciedo will make the White Sox's roster (returns in about a month from injury) and should lend sufficient back-up PAs at 1B (and OF). Glaus is basically a lottery ticket.

I did my annual bet with my buddy tonight, 6 categoies, if anyone wins 4 of them, they decide the destination of our fall trip to an NHL game. We're both homers, which explains the categories, as well as a couple picks... Draft style, we could pick a guy for any of the categories at any time. I had first pick but went fun over strategy and put Bautista in the MLB category instead of Jays category, so I could take Snider. It may bite me in the ### but it's all in fun. He followed with Halladay and Ichiro, so I took Lind and Snider to paint him in a corner with the Jays categories.
