Still open to adjusting the cats, we have a 11x10 going now. I'm not sure SBA or DICE are working correctly though, they may have to go.

Each team is ranked in all the categories TRE picked. First place in a category gets 24 points, second gets 23 and so on all the way down to last place getting 1.So with 21 cats and 24 teams, the most points you could have is 504 and the least is 21. Which makes my 148 really impressive.

I put PAs in as a category just for reference at Sammy's request. I weighted it a 0 in the scoring. It's just to let you know how many PAs you have for WIS later.

Good catch on OPS Larry, BB/9 was also backwards. (I gave each of them a -1 weighting, but fantrax already was ranking them appropriately)

SBA seems to be worfless, all zeros, so I'll remove that; which actually gets us back to 10x10.

Edit: DICE also seems 'dicey'. *rimshot* Any alternate pitching category suggestions?

I was just thinking how right Eephus is about using this for trades. We could actually execute trades on fantrax as a way of tracking them. And of course the system has a trading block that we can use.

Well, except we know Martinez can't throw anyone out, so his rating will be bad. Also, isn't Posada not going to play any catcher at all? I thought that was the scenario.Will be fun to watch (and mock) though!

The clubhouse guy is still probably packing Posada's catching gear for every road trip. It's a long season.Range is the one WIS fielding rating that really kills partial game players, but there are very few +/- plays for C.

I see a couple of guys are sweating second base. It's very early, of course ... but I've got two 2B (Brandon Phillips and Freddy Sanchez) that are going nuts and playing fulltime.

I've got two semi-full time 2B... plus with 4 DHs on the roster, obviously I don't care too much about defense lol... Jack Cust at 2B is my backup plan... Weeks, obviously, is full time (but an injury risk) and doing well... and Skip Schumaker has 23 PA in 6 games and I think they've only played 6 games...

I'm worrying about 3B some, but hopefully between Counsell and Betemit they'll get enough PAs (and Counsell will, eventually, get a hit)...

yeah, that's what I'm assuming is going to happen, I mean, he's an OF... at some point they have to have minor injuries or days off happen so he gets a start... right? lolplus with that speed, he's got to have some value to be a backup option... its just funny that 6 games in he's been a Pinch Runner in like 4 of them and has 3 SBs and 2 runs... that's a ridiculous pace... Could you imagine having the league leader in Stolen Bases only having 30 PAs because he gets put in every game as a PR? I, for one, would laugh...

so, I was curious what the difference between my team stats and my total stats were because I have 4 C/DHs, a full time DH, etc... So I figured it out and according to my calculations, these are my splits for only my starters (Martinez, Butler, Weeks, Betemit, Furcal, Braun, Crisp, Willingham):

211 PAs 189 ABs 37 R 55 H 12 HR 5 SB .291/.360/.566

so my starting lineup currently has 12 HRs in 7 games and an OPS of over .900...

That looks like the FIP (fielding independent pitching) formula. It's a missing a few constants though - HR should be multiplied by 13 and K by 2.Basically an estimate of expected ERA based on K, BB and HR rates.

My 4th starter platoon of Chris Young and Chris Narveson, currently named "The Chrises", has a line of 25.1 IP, 15 H, 10 BB, 26 K for a WHIP of less than 1.00.

They are looking good early....
