Is there any sort of minimum a player needs to get a rating at a position? Ryan Raburn played two error-free games at 2B this year with an above-average range factor. Having seen Raburn attempt to play in the infield before, I have no idea how that happened, but if it holds up I might have a nice little cookie.

I think it's like 20ish games at a position before they get a rating based off how well they did, otherwise it's pretty much going to be a D-/D-. JFranco would probably have a more thorough explanation.

Lineup:

SS Marco Scutaro - 312 PA, .312/.365/.408 (will have to play him or Kipnis out of position, depends which has better fielding rating)

C: Salvador Perez (.284/.314/.396) has been slumping quite a bit lately. I hadn't really checked out his stats lately but looking at them now, he's been a little disappointing so far. Hoping he can heat up in the second half, both in average and in power. Francisco Cervelli (.269/.377/.500) did well before he broke his hand, hope he can come back in the second half and get some PAs. Austin Romine (.158/.179/.211) is terrible, but provides PAs.

1B: David Ortiz (.317/.402/.606) has been a monster, pretty much mirroring what he put up last year so far, but hopefully will end up with a full season of ABs. Couldn't be happier with Big Papi. Ryan Howard (.266/.319.465) has been mediocre, and now will miss 2 months with whatever he hurt. Mitch Moreland (.266/.319/.487) was doing great until he got hurt, then has been bad since he got back. I'm hoping Howard or Moreland improve their stats as I will want/need to trade one to plug some holes.

2B: Omar Infante (.309/.340/.447) has been fantastic for where I took him. Injured now, hoping that doesn't slow down his season and he returns shortly after the ASB. Jemile Weeks (.000/.000/.000) lost his job in Spring Training and the A's have decided they don't want to call him up but they don't want to trade him either. Awesome.

SS: Alexei Ramirez (.286/.311/.358) pretty much just sucks, never walks, never HRs, and has been horrible in the field. Andrew Romine (.130/.167/.130) has been even worse, I can't imagine the Angels call him up again.

3B: Brett Lawrie (.204/.261/.361) has been a huge bust, awful pick by me in the 4th round. He's been hurt forever but now he's back. Yay! Alex Gonzalez (.177/.203/.230) was given a starting position to open the season, but performed so poorly that he was cut by the Brewers, and I can only imagine he will retire from baseball after this. I went back and forth between him and Didi Gregorious before picking Gonzalez, since I figured he was a safer bet to get PAs. I think I made the right call.

OF: Carlos Gonzalez (.302/.370/.610) was my first round pick and has not disappointed, he's been every bit as good as advertised. Jose Bautista (.254/.351/.493) has been infuriating to follow, he goes on what feels like these 0-40 slumps that are just crushing to watch. I'd be lying if I didn't say I wasn't a little let down so far by his season. Nelson Cruz (.277/.334/.517) was a pick I made without any research because I was tired of getting skipped, and he's done as well as I could have hoped for based on that. Gregor Blanco (.277/.339/.367) has been decent, may need to play him quite a bit in CF. Logan Schafer (.234/.281/.359) has sucked, but he's getting PAs with Braun out for now.

So yeah, I basically have no depth at any of my infield positions; hope everyone stays healthy. If not, may need to fix through trade. I also may need help at CF. I seriously hate how WIS does their fielding ratings, but that's a discussion for another time.

SP: I've got some low K, high HR guys, but decentish WHIPs so far as a whole. In order of selected:

James Shields (1.23 WHIP/3.42 DICE) - He's been a little underwhelming to be honest, not a trainwreck, but I hope he picks it up in the second half quite a bit.

Brandon McCarthy (1.43/3.69) - Definitely worse than hoped for. He's been been injured a bit which was expected, but his numbers are definitely down. Hoping his head injury doesn't affect him too much, both this year and continuing on in his life.

Johan Santana (RIP) - Only 200 innings away from 200 innings.

Kyle Kendrick (1.26/3.83) - Has been decent, but hasn't made the jump forward I was anticipating this year.

John Danks (1.13/4.58) - Started out hurt, decent WHIP, but is giving up so many HRs. Stop giving up HRs!

Bartolo Colon (1.11/3.17) - Tubs has been fantastic, whoever his supplier is deserves an enormous bonus. Plus word is today they won't suspend him until next year!

Bronson Arroyo (1.13/4.30) - Has been very good based on where I took him, low K guy, like most guys on my staff.

Jeremy Guthrie (1.38/5.63) - Not the jump I was hoping from him getting away from Coors, also many gopher balls allowed.

Zach McAllister (1.37/4.16) - Okay but not great, injured for the last month or so, hopefully back soon after the all-star break.

RP: Brad Ziegler (1.04/3.52), Jesse Crain (1.15/1.47), Casey Fien (0.80/2.72), and Dale Thayer (1.07/3.51) have been the best so far. But I don't really like to look at or project RPs too much until the season is over, one bad appearance can pretty much kill a whole season, so we'll see where I stand at the end.

C
Brian McCann 206 PAs 291/374/536 12 HR
Yorvit Torrealba 123 PAs 287/358/343
Gerald Laird 82 PAs 296/375/408

McCann has bounced back really nicely and aside from being on track to only finish with around 400-450 PAs is a solid offiensive option. Laird and Torrealba are solid back up PA options.

1B
Brandon Belt 324 PAs 260/336/448 10 HR
Matt Adams 144 PAs 316/368/549 7 HR

Belt remains decent but still not really breaking out like I hoped. Adams keeps hitting but blocked for playing time. At the very least he should be one of the better PH options.

2B
DJ LeMaHieu 199 PAs 265/318/348 11/11 SB
Steve Lombardozzi 194 PAs 234/246/293

Fairly disasterous here aside from DJLM's empty batting average and decent speed. At least it's second base.

SS
Stephen Drew 262 PAs 233/313/409 5 HR
Jose Iglesias 199 PAs 367/417/461

Iglesias has been cooling off, but his hot start means he's almost certainly going to hold onto a decent BA and OBP by the end. Figuring out how to work in his 300 or so ABs will be fun. He's probably going to end up rated at SS and 3B.

3B
Pablo Sandoval 325 PAs 266/317/397 9 HR

Not what I was hoping for, but he slumped badly after his return from injury and has been picking it up again recently. Hopefully he'll at least get back to decent by the end of the season.

OF
Dexter Fowler 322 PAs 284/381/458 10 HR 13 SB
Matt Joyce 310 PAs 241/323/442 14 HR
Evan Gattis 187 PAs 246/310/563 14 HR
Denard Span 390 PAs 260/317/355 10 SB
Vernon Wells 322 PAs 238/276/371 10 HR

I'm putting Gattis in here since I suspect I'll end up platooning him more in the OF with Joyce. Outside of Fowler, pretty meh, though Joyce should be decent as the LHB side of a platoon. Span's RF/G is well above league average 2.61 compared to 2.48, so he at least should have some decent defensive value.

SP
Cliff Lee 19 GS, 138.2 IP, .995 WHIP, 2.91 DICE
Zach Grienke 14 GS 85 IP, 1.259, 3.56
C.J. Wilson 19 GS, 120.1 IP, 1.330, 3.42
Tim Lincecum 19 GS, 116.1 IP, 1.332, 3.28
Ubaldo Jimenez 19 GS, 98.2 IP, 1.490, 4.45
Gerrit Cole 7 GS, 41.2 IP, 1.296, 3.22

1 Ace and resonably solid 2-5, with Cole hopefully providing depth as a long man and spot-starter. I don't have any statring depth behind Cole though so if someone gets hurt or traded and converted to a reliever (Lincecum), I could start to feel innings pressure.

RP
Greg Holland 35 IP 0.914, 1.26
David Robertson 38.1 IP 0.939, 2.45
Rex Brothers 39.2 IP 1.134, 3.35
Tim Collins 33.1 IP 1.500, 3.72
Brian Duensing 34.2 IP 1.673, 3.12
Brandon Lyon 34.1 IP 1.631, 3.93

Holland and Robertson should be a terrific set-up/closer combo, and Borthers a solid bridge. Collins and Duensing have been up and down, but hopefully they at least keep piling up innings as mid-inning fillers. Lyon has been waived.

My team is moving up pretty steadily and I'm actually quite happy with it:

C Joe Mauer 403 PA .320/.402/.473

1B Justin Smoak 269 PA .271/.372/.431/???

2B Rickie Weeks 321 PA .226/.327/.380

SS Jean Segura 397 PA .325/.363/.487 27 SB

3B Brett Wallace 87 PA .222/.276/.457)???? (he was hurt/demoted for most of the first half, should get to ~ 350 PA)

OF Nick Markakis 417 PA .283/.333/.394

OF Carlos Gomez 362 PA .295/.337/.533 21 SB

OF Nate Schierholtz 279 PA .269/.327/.498

Nice pick. Now congratulate me for my YASIEL PUIG pick, ####face.

I only have 80 Games Started. :bag:

And with Niese and Oswalt hurt, Fiers demoted, and Aceves a ####### basketcase, it isn't looking good.

Good thing I have like 17 very good relievers.

Who whiffed on drafting relievers but has a plethora of Quality Starts to trade away?

You want K-Rod? Chapman? Reed? Janssen? Matusz? Tazawa?

yeah no matter what I am looking for I'm not trading anything now, especially not with the rumors of how many guys are supposedly getting suspended and everything...

This pretty much describes my squad to a T. We'll likely make a deal at some point, I just like waiting until the season is over. Can PM me if you have some ideas though.

Good thing my 8th rounder is playing like a 1st rounder, because my 1st rounder just became a platoon player.
yeah, this hurts for me to look at...

In one of my fantasy leagues this year, Freddie Freeman, Ike Davis and Eric Hosmer all went in a run right before me, leaving me to "settle" for Chris Davis. Probably going to win me that league.

No such luck here - I took Ike Davis at 7.1. He'd need an OPS of about 2000 the rest of the way just to post a usable line.

If you were to tell me before the season that Bruce Chen was my leading closer candidate at this point, I'd laugh in your face until I passed out from a lack of breathing.

Are any of the other guys relevant to this year?

There's part of me that is glad Peralta got popped when he did. Locks in a solid 436 PAs at SS. Had he slumped down the stretch, he might not be nearly as attractive.

I feel the same way about the Jordany Valdespin suspension. Really pumped to lock in 144 PAs at a .566 OPS.

With the state of the left side of my INF, I never will be has happy as I am now to hear Brandon Moss played 2 games at 3B this season.
Apparently I missed this... sorry about that.

For <20 games, WIS averages the player's actual stats (RF/G and F%) with some terrible numbers. So you'd get 18 games of pretty bad averaged with 2 good games. It seems like everyone ends up with D- range, and most players are either D- or D fielders, or get all the way up to A or A+ fielders.

After 2 fantastic seasons, this year has been a trainwreck. My team is down to 16th in the Fantrax standings. We still have some assets but it's going to take some Billy Beane level GM-ing to make a whole team out of them.

Innings don't appear to be a problem, but I have a lot of mediocre relievers and not a lot of starters. I need Cobb to come back and get a few more starts, or Martin Perez to put together 2 good months in the rotation.

With the state of the left side of my INF, I never will be has happy as I am now to hear Brandon Moss played 2 games at 3B this season.

Unless I get another SS/3B, I'll have to settle for D-/D- at 3B from Moss. The rest of my roster is trash.

I'm having withdrawl from 3 sets of ten minutes of sheer joy or pain upon getting our game results.

Lets see Im going to need these positions: C, 2B, SS, 1 OF and 4 or 5 relievers. Ugh. Will have to deal Matt Harvey, Mike Minor. and/or Jose Fernandez.

My team's in decent shape. Sitting 4th in Fantrax, although I think I may be getting overrated there because I have more quantity than quality.

I'll definitely need to make at least a trade for a 1B. Will have OF and RP to offer for sure and maybe an IF depending on how the season finishes.

I will have either Andrelton Simmons' 652 OPS and at least A-/B- defense or Brandon Crawford's 727 OPS and at least C-/C- defense at SS to move. A SP or 1B would be the major wants.
