WIS MMXIII Back to the Future 3 - MLB107075 (1 Viewer)

thinking the sim actually reduces the value of a streaky hitter. thoughts?
The sim doesn't seem to like guys like Davis who strikes out 30% of the time. My understanding of the inner workings of the sim is that non-ball-in-play scenarios like walks, HBPs and strikeouts get resolved first. Davis' high K% won't hurt him as much in this sim as it would in a pool with above averaging pitching. But guys like Reggie, Pops, Killebrew, etc. have always seemed to provide much lower AVG and power numbers than would be expected.

45.xx - Yuniesky Betancourt - IF - Philly
Made the 25 man. Way to go Yuni!!
I don't know what the Brewers were thinking here. They have Segura at SS and Alex Gonzalez at 1B until Hart returns. Taylor Green is in the mix somewhere as well when he comes off the DL.
Don't be a hater, old man.
It's Yuni Betancourt. I was being nice.
Now with 1B eligibility

So far my entire pitching staff has a 3.13 ERA, 0.59 HR/9, and a 2/1 K/BB ratio in 106 innings. Ten starters have started a game and eleven relievers have at least two appearances already.

But of course my offense has a 233/316/380 line so far. Love April.

Frosty wanted Pelfrey more than Fujikawa. :spinsfingeraroundear:
In my defense, I know which team Pelfrey plays for.Plus Nishioka has given me, well, a bad impression of those types.
What does your notebook have on 6'7" puds?
You pushed for Pelfrey, bro.
No, I was just saying we can always grab him if you want a Twins pitcher. Don't make me bring out the emails.
I said, "we should draft Gibson because I want a Twins pitcher and he's the last option"You said, "PELFREY"And yesterday you wrote,
>Guys I like:SP: Gibson, Drew Smyly (battling Porcello), Harang, Jordan Lyles (upside still just 22), REDACTED (can wait probably), Juan Nicasio, PELFREY!RP: Villanueva (pen to start at least), REDACTED balls, RONDON, Kelvin Herrera, Madson, Fujikawa, Grilli, still a ton of them but Villanueva's multi inning ability could be valuable.BATSBATSBATS: Hicks, REDACTED, Snider (but he's in a 3 way battle), Moreland, Juan Francisco (has to beat POS REDACTED), REDACTED, Adeiny Hechavarria (SS w/ Def) REDACTED
Capitalization by you, bold and bigitizing by me.
Update?

Too early to tell.

Pedro Florimon and Conor Gillaspie leading me in OBP so far... just like I planned it.
Bryce Harper and Paul Goldschmidt are eating Kelly Shoppach's dust on my squad.

In other news, for the second straight year, my pitching is going to suck a giant bag of #####. I will never, ever pick good pitching at any point of my life, no matter what research I do.

After these starts by Jed Lowrie and Didi Gregorius, pretty sure they could each go hitless the rest of the way and still match the garbage I've run out at short the last 2 years.

My "starting lineup" is just miserable:

C: Jesus "AAA" Montero......208/264/327

C: Rob Brantly...................... 234/298/297

1B: Eric Hosmer.....................264/324/333

1B: Chris Parmalee...............214/291/328

2B: Dustin AAAckley.............205/266/250

IF: Maicer Izturis....................214/248/321

IF: Brian Dozier.....................211/255/282

SS: Everth Cabrera...............261/350/392

SS: Jordy Mercer..................288/302/558 (54 AB)

3B: Todd Frazier...................238/328/411

3B: Juan Francisco...............248/295/410

OF: Matt Kemp.....................255/309/340

OF: Juan Pierre.....................224/277/273

OF: Josh Reddick.................152/266/250

OF: David Lough...................308/308/462 (26 AB)

I mean, WTF.

Mine's gotten better after a terrible start, would be awful if late round picks Florimon and Gillaspie weren't sort of paying off, still going to need to make some moves, plus I had Halladay, Josh Johnson, Petitte, Casey Kelly, Brandon Maurer and J.A. Happ in my rotation and none of them are currently healthy and on MLB rosters so the less said about it the better.

C: Wieters 244/309/442

C: Soto 212/316/348

1B: Craig 302/349/443

1B: Overbay 251/295/468

2B: Rutledge 242/298/357 (now in AAA)

SS: Florimon 255/331/364

SS: Barmes 212/252/288

3B: Gillaspie 293/354/429

3B: Moustakas 178/252/308

OF: Trout 299/373/559

OF: GJones 269/323/455

OF: Morse 254/321/468

OF: Dirks 252/315/388

OF: Saunders 222/306/385

Delmon Young and Robbie Grossman here as well.

Ugh.

C Suzuki .256/.328/.368

C Shoppach .218/.315/.397

1B Goldschmidt .327/.407/.595

C/1B/hopefully 3B sometime Pacheco .286/.330/.371

2B Kipnis .241/.309/.460

2B Scutaro .327.376/.423 (wish he'd play some SS)

All over the damn place Justin Turner .292/.325/.333 (78 ABs)

3B Cruz .114/.145/.152 :X

SS Cedeno .313/.347/.418 (73 ABs)

OF Harper .287/.386/.587

OF/1B Trumbo .270/.333/.493

OF Pagan .262/314/.374

OF/1B Moss .239/.343/.426

OF Bay .240/.350/.423

OF Gentry .233/.317/.344

Good news: I can cobble together a functional starting rotation at this point and the bullpen isn't bad, just thin.

Bad news: Besides Goldy, Harper, and Trumbo...my entire offense.
