Since I pick before Greco in the 25th and larryboy would be insane to take this flying piece of deadwood, I'll go ahead and make my Y pick.

25.04- Gerald Young, Runner

Gerald Young is not a good baseball player. In his 8 year piece of dog#### career, he hit .246/.329/.304. He had no power, couldn't hit for contact, and his on-base skills were somewhere below average.

But he does have two virtues that will not make him completely useless on his team. Sometime in his life, Zeus granted his legs the ability to run like the fire of a thousand Suns was chasing him, and with his speed and blessed glove, he could track down many a fly-ball in 1988, the season I will be using him in.

In short, he's what Joey Gathright wished he was.

As a pinch-runner and late-game replacement, Gerald Anthony Young has found his way to my all-time baseball team's bench. Salud, Gerald.

Well ####. This guy strikes out way too much and I feel like he is going to annoy me. But I need a 1B and I feel he is the bets of what's left.

24.23 Ryan Howard - 1B

I can drop out of sim live if anybody's really chomping at the bit. I'd prefer to be in it, but I can live with it either way.

Last R:

Finally can post some line-up permutations. What my squad lacks in freakish stats, it makes up for in flexibility. That's probably a bad trade-off, but ... eh. I got what I got.

Shameless bump in case line-up discussions take place this evening. I am jealous of other teams' OBPs ... hoping my squad can more often than not make it up with slugging and sheer HR numbers. Even with low BBs, I can see Yount and his 210 base hits batting from the 2 slot at times. If he can manage .350+ OBP behind Phillips, that should be good.

Jebus ... I was wondering.
Any reason why this guy didnt go much earlier? When I decided to wait until the wildcard round for my 1B, I was hoping that Justin Morneau and his really good 348 ABs in 2010, would slide to me. Never thought that Howard and his 58 HRs and 659 SLG and not terrible defense would be there
