With DJax back practicing... (1 Viewer)

I'm thinking of going after DJax, as he is by far Hasslebeck's #1 option, but the Branch cloud is a little unsettling. Take away Joe J's 10 TD's last year and someone's gonna have a huge uptick in productivity. I just can't see Burleson being that guy, so I'm keying on DJax. Thoughts?

D-Jax will be his normal solid self and will rank between 8-16 if healthy IMO.I believe the guy to get here is Engram instead of Burelson.Tom

Not worried about Nate or Bobby - only Branch...If he's out of the picture, then I'm goin hard after DJax. Just wanted some feedback. Thanks..

Pure speculation on my part but I just don't see Seattle paying the price that the Patriots will want - especially after already paying Burleson this year. I might be way off but that's my guess on the whole thing. The only thing I see stopping Jackson is his health and I put it at about 50/50 that he stays healthy this year.

Here's something to, um, er, ponder...

Seahawks | Ponder signedTue, 5 Sep 2006 14:58:20 -0700Seahawks.com reports the Seattle Seahawks have signed free agent WR Willie Ponder (Giants) to an undisclosed contract.

I dont think you have to worry about branch affecting anything. He finds out about his grievence on Sat. Which he will lose, I am alomst 99% sure on that. He makes all the claims of being a super star wide reciever yet he expects be given up for a 2nd round draft pick.... Umm wont happen. So he will be SOL and stuck in NE.

who is the #2 WR for the Seahawks?I thought it was Engram but got this email from CBS.

Seattle WR Bobby Engram was a part-time starter last season, recording 67 receptions, 778 yards and three TDs, but he is expected to return to No. 3 WR duty with Darrell Jackson returning and the addition of Nate Burleson. With Jackson, Seattle's No. 1 option at WR possibly returning this week from offseason knee surgery, Engram is not a recommended start against Detroit. Engram should only warrant consideration in deeper leagues that start three or more WRs.

They don't have a #2 WR per se, but rather where they play.Burleson will be out wide opposite of Jackson and Engram will play in the slot. Engram will probably get more receptions than Burleson, but Burleson could get more yards and TDs.

DON'T BELIEVE CBS SPORTSLINE!

Not sure why they are so far out of the loop, but they just are. I think the Seahawks would like Burleson to take over the #2 spot, but right now Engram is more effective and reliable.

 Burleson seemed to do okay as the #2 in Minnesota? 1,000 + and 9 TDs aint exactly lousy for a #2. In the last 5 years Bobby hasn't had over 800 yards or more than 6 TDs. Engram is 33, Burleson 25 - I'll take Burleson thanks. Oh and don't let facts like the depth chart here on FBG or seahawks.com get in the way :confused:Dude - it's Burleson. To the original poster - I don't think you need to worry about Branch. It seems he's either headed to the Jets (doubtful) or sitting out (probable). If I had to put a number on it <5% chance of him coming to the 'hawks. 20% to the Jets and about 65% he sits out (10% that he actually plays the season as Pat - hey, I'm an optimist)

DJ Hackett is a good receiver. If ever he was to make move up the depth chart it would be now.
This is a value play. Costs almost nothing. ( your last roster spot)If you hit, bingo. If not, no harm done.FWIW, This whole creaky knee on a good receiver has gone on too long to be all lollipops and sunshine. It's grandma in here!! Icy pots baby.
