Connections was a crash and burn. I was not familiar with uncanny valley, and the blue category is something "I" don't get.

Uncanny led to the rare purple first. Blue category was strange to me and I would have struggled if not for elimination.
Yeah, if you know the phrase, it made for an easy purple solve. Probably the first time I've ever played a purple fill in the blank first.

I think it's one of those niche things where if you're into, e.g., video games or movie CGI you're probably at least passingly familiar with the phrase and concept. If you don't have an interest in those areas where it would be referenced, you're very unlikely to just happen across it in every day conversation or reading.
