Lol. I’ve been getting hammered by Octordle here and there. I feel like I am just unlucky. When it takes 3 guesses at one word due to 1 letter you aren’t finishing it. You only have 4 incorrect guesses after your opening word so using two on one word, poop. Of course the word that the opening word gave me the last 3 in the right order is the one that I decided not to guess and it ended up being my first guess. 🤦‍♂️

interested in how you banged #6 R on the sedecordle so easily ... lest you used the swing letter earlier than i did in another column  :shrug:

Already had four of the 5 letters so process of elimination pointed me there.

 
Struggled with Wordle today. I got letters 2-3-4 on guess #2. Looking at the remaining available letters, I couldn't figure out any viable words for the life of me. Spent guesses #3 and #4 ruling out letters, which gave me letter 5. Even then it took me a while to figure out what the word was on guess #5.

I sometimes get tunnel vision and forget that you can have double-letters. Once I ignored the letters on the keyboard and just looked at the letters I had it was easy.  

 
Has anyone looked through the history of solutions to avoid starting with words that have already been the answer (eliminating the possibility of solving on the first guess until the loop repeats)?

I was using different words every day for a while, but have used the same word ("raise") for the last week or so because it's been disappointing enough that I don't want to switch away from it until it lands solidly. But it occurs to me that I shouldn't use it or any other word if it's already been the solution ... because my life goal is to solve the puzzle in one turn.

i've been concentrating more on using 3 consonant starters ... vowels are much easier to place once the word skeleton takes shape, and there's less of them, of course. 

favorites lately are: trace/crate, pleat, crave, scare/races, scale/laces, bloat, those, etcetcetc

sometimes toss a 'scant' or 'brunt' in for chips n' giggles.

 All things considered, very pleased with my Quordle performance today.  No longer starting ADIEU on Quordle BTW

 
I think I have perfected the octordle with my series of opening words. I haven’t failed it or any of the practices since I started. But for some reason it won’t let me post to Facebook tonight. Said it goes against standards. Anyone know what that’s about?

 
Worldle continues to be the most difficult for me.  It’s either easy because I immediately recognize the country shape or I struggle.  For some reason I’m not very good with relative distances between countries.

I think this is my first time getting it in two. I accidentally used by quordle starting word instead of my Wordle starter. Playing in hard mode helped too since I couldn’t use an elimination strategy.

No idea how you finished Octordle. I had two words left. Wasted 7 guesses on 2 words that probably had another 5 possible answers. Unfortunately my start words made those seem the easiest so dumb me decided to get rid of those first. Most of them are not common words you ever say and since I’m straight, I didn’t realize one was actually a real word versus slang.

Yeah, I missed two on Octordle today — seemed more like words for Lewdle than Octordle. (Guessed something else on the slang one because I thought to myself “they wouldn’t have that as an answer here”, and, well, they did).

Octordle is really ticking me off lately, just played a couple random games of it, not the daily one and had these guesses in a row in both games:

loops, pools, sloop and spool (my bad on sloop, I was frustrated, but the other 3 all fit, 3 fine guesses when I had all 5 letters)

snack, snake and snaky (seriously? Snaky as a word)

Smear, swear and shear

It's like they are trying to be obtuse and use  words that have so many options. Those are the worst because you get no help on other words when 4 of the 5 letters are exactly the same in 3 guesses. Snaky and gayer, come on.

Lol, thought the same thing. The “er” one is something I never would have even tried. Like snaky, no one ever uses that over say sneaky.
