I wanted to eliminate p because there were more words with p in them than any other letter (after I'd eliminated s, w, and t). But all of the p words except for paper (pacer, caper, pager...) were very unlikely to be the answer, IMO. I wanted a chance of getting it in three. Oh well.

It’s funny because I’ve never watched the entire thing, just wasn’t my cup of tea. I just remembered the holiday party at the mansion and that looked like Cruise.

 
Hadn't ever played this one so I tried a couple extra non-daily attempts. Proud of this as some were cobble together a good guess and trying to use the best guesses to eliminate letters in other tossups. You only have 5 non-answer guesses and I needed 2 guesses just to be able to guess the first word but never missed. I missed one word on the daily and my early round/found/wound/bound fiasco meant I lost and didn’t even realize until I had two words left.

Eliminating p is usually a good idea but you need to look around first. 👀

Congrats if you get Octordle today. Got it with the last guess. Some really random words and I had 3 guesses with two words and just a few letters left but had one green letter and one yellow letter on each word. Luckily a lot of overlap. One word I have never ever heard or seen in my entire life.
