Not only did his team stink, this team played with no will no pride and no pretension of having a chance to win.

They gave up very early, and the coach made no attempt to even make a game of it.

They gave up at the end of the half, by taking a knee. They let the 3rd qtr run out w/o getting an extra play in. At the end of the game, evrybody knew Sea was going to run, and instead of trying to stuff them, they allow themselves to get manhandled. They used their timeouts poorly -- waiting for 25 seconds to run off of the game clock before calling one of them.

Just horrible. This team believes they can't win and doesn't even try.

Whoever called plays in the second half and didn't take advantage of the fact that it was still 13-0 and they had plenty of time to establish a running game - after Jordan had 3 carries for about 40 yards to get them out from the goal line. It baffled me that they didn't see the big run he had and at least try to grind out for another series or two.

Sorry F&L, I think the Art Shell of tonight barely beats out the Art Shell vs SD. He finally got the run going, got 3 first downs via the run,..then WHAMO! he starts to pass 3 in a row and they gotta punt. I mean,..wtf my neice can tell you when she poops in her pants her butt itches, when she poops in the potty it doesn't,...so at least she sticks to the toilet. Unfortunetly,..thats where Oakland lives.

I think coaches like Cowher and Gruden often looks absurd on the sidelines with all thier scowls, frowns and grimaces. But, at least you can never doubt they're passionate about their teams. This is the second or third time I've seen Shell on the sideline this season and each time it appears: a) he has no clue what's going on, and b) he just doesn't care.

I would vote Dave Wannstedt for his wonderful contribution to the Monday Night Miracle vs the Jets. He always had the deer in the headlights look on his face and be running his hand through his hair nervously as the other teams made halftime adjustments and started to destroy his teams. At least one of the proud franchises(da bears) he destroyed is recovering, hopefully the Dolphins turn it around soon as well.

How does he still have a job today when he says "I don't know what else we can do to protect the QB, we've tried everything and the players just have to play better."

HOW ABOUT RUNNING THE ####### BALL TO SET UP THE PASS.......7 step drops? I got beat by two by seattle's def cause of all those sacks in the first half. WTF did he think they were the Colts all of a sudden, and were going to pass on every play even in those conditions with wind and driving rain. How can they not run the ball in that. How can you not run the ball when you have Andrew Walter as your QB. Not to mention the clock would run and you wouldn't get your arses handed to you quite as bad cause the game would be over quicker.

All I needed was one stinkin field goal to take away the shut out points.....#####.

Denny Green losing a 20-0 lead vs. the Bears without them scoring a single TD on offense IN ARIZONA takes this hands down.

no,..Art Shell blows any competition away,...i know Denny Green lost 20-0 lead, but he was passionate like Ditka says. Shell's Defense was keeping them in the game,..the coordinators should have been scrambling to get things done,...instead of sitting on their butts. All they had to do was keep running on their one drive, and i think they'd have had a good chance to get a TD,..making it a 1 score game to win. His lack of ambition to get the players and most of all the Offensive coaches going proves that he is hands down worthy of the worst coach on MNF.

P.S. I'm sorry you have to run for Oak. now LaMont.

Denny may have passion, but at least Shell has a defense. Denny can't even say he's got that right now. Offense, defense, and special teams are all a mess since that MNF debacle.

The question was...."worst coach on MNF" not "worst team a coach has had to coach on MNF"

Great just greatNow I gotta go buy another monitor :lmao:

Last night was one of the most boring games I have ever had to watch. Oakland never came close to attempting a pass or runn near the red zone, and never even attempted a field goal., or anything remotely close to an offensive play to put numbers on the board.

Art Shell is just horrible, not even getting in his players faces when the game was still a managable 13-0.

He needs to get rid of Tom Walsh his Offensive Coordinator and buddy of his from his last go around with the Raiders. Why would you bring a guy who was running a bed and breakfast to be your offensive play caller? I guess him figuring out how many towels each guest needs equates to knowing how to game plan for a team who knows you have no offensive line and are going to go after the QB all game.

I had flashbacks of Danny Weurful and Patrick Ramsey under Spurrier watching Walter get "Shell-Shocked"

This team is an embarassment to the NFL.....and the only thing I find amusing about it is that they actually BEAT the STEELERS.

Way to go from Champs to Chumps in no time fellas.

Exactly my point- if you are judging poor coaching performance, the worse coach is the one who lets the team implode in the second half when you have a good team on the ropes in front of a home crowd AND a nationally televised audience (especially when it's not due to losing players by injury). Given the potential on that team and the players that put forth the effort they did in the first half- and then sacking the OC as the scapegoat to further handicap you for future games- that one MNF game has set the tone for the last 2 weeks since that loss. Good coaches use that game as an example and make the team never want to relive that experience on the field again.Shell had a mediocre product in the offseason. Now he has mediocre minus his starting QB, an ailing Lamont Jordan, and has handicapped his team further by benching Porter for half the year when he could have obviously used a boost at the WR position. He coached last night's MNF game just the same as week 1 (although with less turnovers). Their two recent wins were HIDEOUS stats-wise...but the numbers have been the same win or lose. He's consistently put an ugly team on the field going back to this year's preseason. At least the OAK coaching staff has recognized that they need the defense to put up a strong effort to give their anemic offense a shot- that may not be to Shell's credit, but at least half the team is putting up a fight unlike the Cards.

Can you not argue, that the Cardinals Defense runs along the same lines as the Oakland D? They held Chicago to a FG offensively, all i'm saying is that they had a good thing going, and because of decisions made to alter them, they lost. Art Shell has to take responsibility for that , in a game i think he clearly could have won. The Cardinals had their hands full with a undefeated Bears, the Raiders had Seattle's QB and RB starters out, and went away from their bread and butter,...i know its repeated, but you gotta say thats some of the worst coaching ever, and deffinatly the worst on a monday night.
