Worst Movie You’ve Seen (1 Viewer)

Nothing But Trouble or Going Overboard.  Two gosh-awful attempts at comedy that weren't even "so bad it's funny".  Just legit attempts at humor that were never funny at any point with stupid plots and horrible acting.

 
I’ve seen a good deal of the movies named so far.  :unsure:

My nominations when this topic comes up are generally House of 1000 Corpses (one of my least pleasant moviegoing experiences, and I partly ruined it for the friends who were with me) and Skyline, which was just horrendously boring. Oddly enough, I just found out that the Skyline sequel came out today and is apparently actually not bad.

OMG I friggin LOVED that cartoon when I was a kid.

If you go into disaster porn movies like Geostorm, 2012, The Day After Tomorrow thinking of them as comedies, they are among the best of the past decade. Planes flying lower than buildings! John Cusack managing to get one step beyond the falling ground every time! etc...

 
A horror movie called "Tusk".  It was the worst I've ever seen.  I only watched it because Kevin Smith did it, a mistake I will never make again.

I have the Digital Underground EP release with the song from that movie.  The CD cover is funnier than the movie.

 
I know this prob doesn't count, but....

A few years ago we went to a small amusement park with another family, stayed in a small family run hotel. Part of the package was free movie rental. So after we put the kids to bed, my buddy and i went down to get a movie. The lady at the front desk pulls out a binder of DVDS in plastic sleeves. We flip through and it all 80's type movies. One really stood out from the others...it was called Back Woods, you could tel lit was low budget and cheese, so we laughed but grabbed like Top Gun or something like that b/c we knew it would be a safe option.

We get back to the room and tell the wives about the binder of DVDs and then about this low budget one that seemed out of place in the collection. Immediately my buddy's wife was like "go get it!" So we went to the desk to sweep it out. When we picked it, the woman at the desk was like "really? no one has ever picked that movie, like ever?" 

anyway here is the description:

OMG, thankfully we had plenty of alcohol to watch this train wreck. 

It starts out as a woman who gets pregnant, guy leaves her and somehow she's preggo for over 30 years, only to deliver a 300lbs, 30 year old baby. Unfortunately, she is run over by a car and killed shortly after and 30 year old baby goes on a murderus rampage dressed in mommy's clothes looking for her...it doesn't go much uphill from there. lol

My friend found it and gave it to me for my birthday one year. We still need to get together again and watch it.

Fair Game

Starring Cindy Crawford as a high-powered lawyer. Think about that.

5 naked Cindy Crawfords in the movie would not have made it watchable.

 
Titanic. Of course both could fit on that board (it's been proven) and WHY would grandma keep that jewel hidden and then throw it away? By doing so, she damages her family for generations.

You can tell pretty early it's going to be a stinker. 2 guys are talking on a porch and a fly (unscripted, like most flies) keeps landing on one guy's head. After swatting it away several times he just puts a napkin on his head and finishes out the scene. It gets worse after that.

 
"Birdemic" is my winner of so bad it's phenomenal. Blows "The Room" or any number of laughably terrible films out of the water.

"The Core" is my pick in the above category for blockbuster. Makes me downright excited for "Geostorm". :excited:

 
I don't know if it was the worst movie, but the movie I was most disappointed in was Alien 3. Alien and Aliens were both so good, and Alien 3 was just awful compared to the first two. Nothing original and did nothing to advance the story.

..and now we have 2 AVP movies and Alien:Covenant that make Alien 3 look like Alien and Aliens.  

 
One that I forgot is Blair Witch Project. When done, it felt like someone stole money from me. 

 
Movies that I actually like a bit or at least remember liking that have been listed (2 I would probably have in the top 10 of the year they were released):  Pineapple Express, Skeleton Key, Vanilla Sky, Independence Day, Dogma, The Hangover, Tropic Thunder, House of 1000 Corpses, Titanic, Blair Witch.  

Just like others have a category for "so bad it's good", I have the opposite for movies that I get people don't like, but are still probably too well made to be on any worst movies list, like Boyhood, Tenenbaums, Magnolia, English Patient, Lincoln, etc...   I am surprised there hasn't been a Tree of Life nomination yet.

Not true.  The real reason is that it's now the in-thing to like this movie for being so bad, it's good.  And the truth is that, yep, it's bad.  So bad, it's entertaining.  I think I named it the last time this thread popped up.

But my pick for worst movie that hit the big screen is:  Garbage Pail Kids: The Movie.    Find something redeeming in that pile of filth.  I'd rather watch Howard the Duck on repeat for a week.

Me too.  Guilty pleasure for me.  Had it been anyone else than Richard Pryor, I don't think I'd like it the same, though.

That's one of the things that made it my worst - to see the realest comic & funniest person on the planet whored out to pirahna/pajama gags as a white man's boy's toy

 
I don't know who said the Hangover and Tropic Thunder, but whoever it was, We have totally different senses of humor. Those would be on my all-time comedies list.
