Hypothetical question inspired by the Steve Avery thread.

if you found yourself on a jury and could convict your worst enemy to life in prison despite being likely innocent would you do it?

Im talking about the most hated person in your life.

I think i would do it.

 
No. He didn't do enough to warrant that, but there should be at least some punishment for that narcissistic jagoff.

 
Hating someone that much is a waste of energy. There are people I don't like but I dont let myself dwell on them enough gives them my power. I don't bother. So no.

 
I don't hate anyone that bad. There are plenty of people that have stiffed me on their bill over the years though... and I'd like to punch each and every one of them in the incisor (if the bill was > $500) the <$500 crowd I could settle for farting directly up their nose.

 
It's not personal but the guy I despise most is someone we're working to send to jail. So, yeah I guess. But he's not innocent.

 
The question is highly relative to what "your worst enemy" has done to become your worst enemy.

If he raped your daughter and got away with it, sure.

If he's just the office PITA, then no.

I would find it odd if a person never met a real scum bag they hated at some point in their lives.

I would imagine everyones been screwed over at oen point of another.

I feel confident in saying that I have zero people like that in my life. I suppose I could try to seek out such people, but none have any affect on my life now or in the past couple of decades that I can recall.

I feel confident in saying that I have zero people like that in my life. I suppose I could try to seek out such people, but none have any affect on my life now or in the past couple of decades that I can recall.

Exactly.

One, let's just say it looks like he's raped multiple women. He should rot.

The one I'd call my personal worst enemy is just a schmuck who has gotten more than he earned. He doesn't deserve jail but maybe a kick in the nuts.

 
What if its just a generally distasteful person? perhaps they may have no committed any serious crimes but is just a sociopath who doesnt belong in society?

would you be ok sending a guy with nothing to offer society up the river?

Sure, I've had people screw me out of large sums of money. I also had a few kids bully me pretty hard in middle school. I'd probably be hard pressed to do these people any significant favors.

But, I can honestly say that I haven't "hated" anybody in my life. Even the above people I honestly don't wish any ill will on. I'd just rather never have to deal with them again.

Does this loser have a chance to get out or is this LWOP? What about a presidential or governor pardon? Aw, #### it, yeah, these 2 losers I can think of tie for #######, deserver to be in prison forever, loser of the century. They both go and bunk with each other.

 
At the moment I don't really hate anyone (on a personal level) but if I did & had the chance I most likely would send them up the river.

 
My enemies are all dead. No sense in sending a corpse to jail, or to even try the corpse in the first place.

Necrophilia is not my thing, no interest in even trying it. That said, were I ever induced to swing that way I would still, I suspect, remain hetero. That would rule out the corpse of my worst enemy. Well that and the passage of time. I imagine even necrophiliacs have some expiration date on corpses. My worse enemy may not be dust by now, but I bet he is falling apart pretty good.
