WR Allen Lazard, NYJ (2 Viewers)

I don't get it. He's been on the Packers for five years, including 2 MVP seasons for Rodgers and barely gets thrown the ball. Teams are really excited about this guy? I guess the Packers really misused him.

His separation stats are atrocious - he's at best a solid possession WR3. Even in a weak WR free agent and draft class, I doubt he's high in demand.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Jets are "actively working" to sign free agent WR Allen Lazard.

Aaron Rodgers will likely want to bring his favorite Green Bay pass catchers with him if he finally signs with the Jets. That includes Lazard, a longtime Rodgers favorite who finished 2022 with 56 receptions for 747 yards and five touchdowns. Known as a solid blocking wideout and a coach's favorite, Rodgers finally signing with the Jets could be contingent on bringing in Lazard and possibly other current or former Packers. Schefter said the Jets are competing with one other team for Lazard's services.

Jets signed WR Allen Lazard, formerly of the Packers, to a four-year, $44 million contract.

Lazard was one of four players on the list of demands Aaron Rodgers reportedly gave the Jets. A former undrafted rookie free agent who landed on the Packers' practice squad in late 2018, Lazard has turned into one of Rodgers' favorite teammates over the last several seasons. He caught a career-high 60 passes for 788 yards in 2022 and saw the seventh-most deep targets (28) of any receiver in the league. Lazard landing in New York likely spells the end for Corey Davis, although it's hard to imagine him being any higher than the third option in the Jets' receiving game, regardless of who their quarterback is. Lazard's deal with the Jets includes $22 million in guaranteed money.

Allen Lazard was surrounded by trainers on the field at Jets OTAs before walking off the field.

Lazard was clearly in pain on the ground, drawing the attention of the team's trainers. The veteran and favorite of new Jets QB Aaron Rodgers walked off the field and was seen without his helmet. Rodgers, meanwhile, appeared to suffer an ankle injury during Tuesday's OTAs. Lazard's status will be worth monitoring.

Apparently he got hit in the “nads”. He finished practice after that.

Corey Davis retired from the NFL after six seasons
Jets head coach Robert Saleh said earlier that Davis was at risk of missing Week 1 against the Bills but wouldn’t get into specifics. Now we know why. The former No. 5 overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft appears ready to call it quits after six seasons. Davis was selected by the Titans out of Western Michigan and joined the Jets in 2021. While he never lived up to his lofty draft capital, the veteran receiver posted a career-high 984 yards and five touchdowns in 2020 and was a solid WR2 for the Jets over two seasons. His retirement permanently elevates Allen Lazard to the Jets’ WR2 role and makes him a low-end WR3 option alongside teammate Aaron Rodgers.

Jets HC Robert Saleh said he expects Allen Lazard (shoulder) to be ready for Week 1 against the Bills.
Lazard exited Wednesday’s practice and did not return to the field. His injury was later diagnosed as an AC joint sprain, which will sideline him for the Jets preseason finale against the Giants, but there doesn’t appear to be much concern over whether or not he’ll be able to suit up for Week 1. With Corey Davis now retired, Lazard figures to be the defacto WR2 opposite Garrett Wilson. He’s a low-end WR3 who has shown tremendous upside down in the red zone.

I don't see Lazard doing anything but running the correct routes and reading defenses correctly so ARod can skip him and force it to Wilson.
