WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, DET (2 Viewers)

Ian Hartitz
Amon-Ra St. Brown has caught a touchdown in 8 straight games.

Jerry Rice (13), Randy Moss (10), and Carl Pickens (10) are the only players since 1970 to catch a TD in at least 10 consecutive games.
Had no idea that Carl Pickens is George’s father. Was trying figure out when Carl caught TDs in 10 straight games and ran across this news. 🤯

brothers

Saints are on a bye so EQ & his girl are crashing in L.A. this weekend while the Lions are in Indianapolis. Didn’t ask his little brother if he could use his house, went through ARSB’s agent to set it up.

:lmao:

Since 2022, Amon-Ra St. Brown has more touchdowns than:

Justin Jefferson
Tyreek Hill
A.J. Brown

Not bad for a slot merchant.

Anything to see with this knee injury or is it just veteran rest day(s)?
Last update I saw basically said he was good to go. And I’m checking constantly because I’m going against him.

He was DNP yesterday (walk through) and LP today (full pads.)

Dan Campbell said he’ll be good to go and ARSB confirmed that in the locker room after practice. Might even return punts again (I *think* that part was a joke.)

With Houston cut maybe a practice squad guy promoted that has punt return experience? Just a guess, unless they have someone on defense they could maybe use more. Either way someone other than ARSB I would think on punts.

Yeah Tom Kennedy or Maurice Alexander might fit the mold? They resigned Mo a couple weeks back but previously has only handled KR. IIRC DPJ has a lot of PR experience in the league, but do they trust him? Haven't even heard his name mentioned all season. Dan Campbell mentioned Alexander & Tom Kennedy as possibilities, and I feel like they would trust TK - the ex-lacrosse pro has been on the practice squad 6 years now. Campbell praises him often over the course of the year, they like what he brings to the scout team. I would give him a slight edge this week.

It's a shame we had Isaiah Williams get poached by the Bengals, this would have been his moment. They're just letting him rot, hasn't played a snap since they nabbed him 19 days ago.

Oh darn, didn’t notice he got taken. That’s disappointing. Sounds like Amon Ra is going to be the PR guy at least Thursday.

The Lions elevated Maurice Alexander from the practice squad, so he might be the punt returner against the Bears.

Another first round bust.
Huh?

Sure he had a meh Thursday night. But he’s the WR5 in my 1/2 ppr league.

( just checked…also WR5 in full ppr)
Awful last 3 weeks however. I’m grieving.
Fair enough. 3 single-digit results in a row. He hasn’t really lost me a game though. I have bigger problems ;)
He’s a wonderful player and what Kirk said about him still playing hard even though he was schemed out last night is a great point. You just hate to see those red zone targets go to Tim Patrick all of the sudden. Lions remaining schedule isn’t WR friendly either. Of course, he’s impossible to bench.

Hes been extremely disappointing this year. I'd call him a first round bust also. Yeah he's top 5 WR but the WR position in general is having a down year across the board. 3 single digit games in a row, 5 total on the season. Targets WAY down from last year. 2 blowup games all season.

Agree for FF perspective. I accumulated many many invested hours expecting big games only to be disappointed. I get that non FF player is part of the cog driving for a SB championship. Additionally, I was speculating last night that uber wide receiver numbers are down or better yet very inconsistent- blow up game than ~ 3 duds. I guess I just ride him out and hope for the best but that engine has too many parts for FF dominance. Monty and Gibbs are the best plays and they can go dormant if Lions hit home field wrap up

Completely agree and feel the same way ... dynasty I really don't want to move on from him, but this year has been frustrating from him due to supposedly being a fantasy stud.

There's no way i'd characterize ARSB as a fantasy bust this year. He's on a great team that can win in all kinds of ways and don't need to force-feed anyone. Currently WR2 in my league (yes, he has played one extra game) and hasn't missed any time. In this WR apocalypse season where it seems like top 20 WRs have been going down for months at a time, there's a lot to be said for just being out there weekly. As a Collins (missed 5 weeks and now has his BYE) and Lamb shareholder this year, i'm actually a bit jealous of the ARSB team in my league.

Maybe I’m wrong but I swore I looked at ppr scoring last weekend and Amon Ra was top 5. I am struggling to see how that’s disappointing. Sure we all want 1700/12 from our 1st round picks but that’s not happening for every player. Sure we wish we had Saquon or Henry but the fact is Amon Ra has been a steady producer, not a bust.

It's recency bias and the fact that he is coming up short when people need wins to get in their fantasy playoffs. He has had 3 straight games with less than 75 yards and no TDs. He scored a TD in each of the 8 games prior to that stretch.

I.E., nobody was complaining 4 weeks ago.

Disappointing because I am standard scoring.. sorry should have clarified

I love ARSB but he's on a run-heavy team with an emerging WR playing opposite. More targets for Williams means fewer targets for others.

Everybody's gotta eat.

Ive been complaining about him 4 weeks ago too (before the Jaguars game). Even though he scored in 8 straight games the targets were dramatically down. Anyone with any knowledge knew those TDs were going to dry up eventually so these last 3 weeks have really been basically the same as the prior 8 weeks minus the TDs.

Sure, but there are only 4 WRs with 8 TDs or more this year, and only Chase is substantially more. 8 games in a row with a TD for a WR is about as consistent as you can be in fantasy football.

9 TDs is 2nd amongst all WRs. 863 yards is 7th. I mean he’s not a league winner but he’s far from a bust.

He could be considered a bust by some FF players ADP non ppr. Maybe bust is too strong of a description. I am in the disappointed camp. I think across 13 he has averaged 11 points per game. Take away the only uber game vs Jax and he is averaging 9.79 ppg. The yards are down and got a lift from the TDs otherwise it could have been more frustrating but the numbers count. My fault taking him at his ADP non ppr. I speculated heavy run game but I bet top 3 offense and that Goff was going to put up bigger numbers and did not see anyone outside Williams as a threat. Alas, the FF playoff run is the downer. Is what it is. Probably have one last week to get a bigger number vs Bills which will be a challenge. After that its probably a shut down

If Amon Ra is a bust than so is Justin Jefferson. Their scoring is pretty much identical in PPR and standard.
Being the first WR off the board in many leagues, absolutely could be considered a first round bust. Honestly, only Chase has made you giddy taking in the first at this position. Been crazy how ravaged it’s been via numerous reasons.

2nd in the league in TD's by a WR.
Top 5-7 in both yards and receptions.

He's not a bust. Just a tough time for him to go 3 straight weeks without a TD, but I'd be willing to bet he gets at least one in the next three weeks (which are even more critical).

The other angle is that the passing game is down league wide so perhaps being held to previous gaudy numbers isn’t fair.

Still, Lamb, Wilson, St. Brown, Jefferson and Hill owners aren’t pleased with their ROI when they could’ve had Barkley, Henry, etc. Of course, those regrets happen every year.

Why would he be shut down? They have a 1 game lead over 2 different teams for the #1 seed. Extremely small chance the Lions clinch homefield before the final week of the season. Also entirely possible Detroit loses that game to Buffalo, and I'm not sure Campbell is really the type to rest guys anyway.
