WR Antonio Brown, FA (7 Viewers)

Which part do you find disgusting?
His statement that he and another guy will laugh about how he ejaculated on her back, for one. Frankly, the first sentence of the first one I saw was the sort of thing that I think a man probably shouldn’t be sending to a woman he’s been physically intimate with, consensual or not. Nor should one repeatedly call a woman the names he called her.

Link?  Not on his Twitter twitter feed
It's from @SexyTroopLover which is Barry McCockiner, a troll account that poses as Ian Rapoport or Woj to break fake NFL and NBA news. Gets suspended and rotates to a new burner constantly, just to  :fishing:

I don’t understand this. It seems that some of you have learned absolutely nothing about the Me Too movement, about men in power and how sexual assault happens.
Pretty rich from the guy who defends Roman Statutory Rapin Polanski.

What happened to Harvey Beats Off In Plants Weinstein?

Or Louie Beats Off In Front Of Women CK?

Or Kevin Jerks Off Passed Out 17 Year Olds Spacey?

If we are going to go on #metoo history then AB is a hero and just one of the guys.

If he did It I hope he is found guilty, loses every dime of his contract, goes to prison, and never plays another down.

If she fabricated it, I hope she is sent to prison for a similar amount of time, and is ordered to pay Brown damages.

Shef was just on sportscenter and said rumblings of “commish exempt list” until it gets sorted out.
Their other NFL Insider who I cited above who actually was a GM and VP of Operations I the NFL with two franchises said the opposite, essentially that players remain eligible during civil suits.

Truth is probably in the middle somewhere

We’ll see what happens, but if the league puts Brown on the exempt list they are opening the door to a world of potential issues.

For example, the week before the SB, someone files a similar lawsuit against one of the starting QB’s. If the precedent has already been set, how does the league not exempt that player.

As a Raider fan,I don't like Brown obviously, but this would have a lot better if she had gotten the police involved right away. But victims don't report right away for a variety of reasons. That doesn't mean that the claim is true or not true. Others have already discussed the benefit of proceeding criminally first, get a conviction then the civil case is a slam dunk. That being said, her attorney is a seasoned and well respected former Federal Prosecutor. It'll come down to whatever supporting witnesses she can come up with. I've read those texts and think they can be spun a number of ways. Hopefully they are sitting on more evidence that will come out during the discovery process.

yes, you've posted this on each of the last 3 pages
Right. And 'being eligible' doesn't mean NE will want to pay and play him. Wish I knew more details about his contract with them; what if they simply cut him now? How much coin is guaranteed?

At a bare minimum they are entitled to the conduct detrimental clause included in all contracts and in the CBA. Just like the Raiders could have, they could move to void the contract (and would have a much stronger case than OAK).

Remember last year when Shady McCoy was accused of beating up his on again off again GF. There were pictures posted on line. Everyone was sure he would go on the exempt list and get suspended. The police investigated, no charges were filed, and McCoy was accused of multiple crimes in a civil suit. The league took no action against McCoy and it’s over a year later.

I do wonder if Goodell might have it in for AB for his shenanigans in other venues (of the past 6 months or so), and exempt him.  It's not like the NFL really has any hard-and-fast rules for this stuff.  They seem to make it up as they go along.
Goodell probably loves the clicks and air time this AB drama generates.

Up until this latest thing, of course.

I thought he was in a different state when she was robbed/beaten.  They just thought he might have sent someone.  This case appears that Brown owns up to what was accused, so I see differences.  Who knows if that means anything.

I'm guessing they will have access to more info than we do, and will make a call. The next day or two will be telling. Also wondering if they agreed to trade Demarius before or after this news was known?  I wouldn't think you would make that deal if you thought there was a chance you would be cutting AB.
