WR Antonio Brown, FA (10 Viewers)

NBC Sports Edge:

Bucs informed WR Antonio Brown of his release.

The move probably won't officially be made until Monday, but Brown will be cut and exposed to waivers after one of the most bizarre episodes you will ever see on a football field. It was the logical conclusion to a Bucs tenure — and almost certainly NFL career — that saw Brown coddled at every turn. The Bucs openly admitted that keeping Brown after his vaccine card disaster was a cynical ploy at winning. They got what they paid for in a player who has now flamed out with four different organizations. We are not doctors or mental health professionals, but you don't need us to tell you all does not seem well in Brown's world. Six months shy of his 34th birthday, Brown enters the offseason with the 21st most catches in NFL history. It's hard to see him getting a fifth chance.

I’m generally a believer in letting things go when done in the heat of the moment - but quitting the game and just walking out is indefensible.  He’d never play for me again if I was the Bucs GM.
It seems really unlikely for him to play for another team in the NFL.

but then I thought that before Brady brought him to TB.

I guess this whole situation leaves me feeling kind of sad. I thought we as a society have matured and understand mental illness. I don’t necessarily expect people here to be levelheaded, But I expect Fox sports to know better than to turn this into some sort of must see spectacle. A fellow human being is likely in a mental health breakdown situation and most choose to basically point and laugh. I don’t expect many people on this board to agree with me, but that’s how I see it

what a POS...after not being relevant and available for interviews.....gets asked a legit question and goes total arsehole.....he's fine and loves to talk about how great he is and run his mouth as long as it is what HE wants to talk about and on his agenda.....what a ##### not wanting to answer the tough questions....so over this guy.....Brady's "little project" is still a POS no matter how far under his wing he is tucked....

Not sure what Fox sports did but the whole sport is based on guys trying to run into each other as hard as they can so we can watch.

According to the reports, Arians wanted Brown to go into the game and Brown legit refused (more than once?). Arians got fed up and told Brown to go to the locker room, Brown decided to peace out.

It has to be said, one of the greatest miracles is the job Tomiln did with AB, tolerating him for so long... or whenever his mental issues began.

Mental illness is a very real thing, yes, but you do know that Brown has been accused of sexual assault on multiple occasions?  And once almost crushed a toddler by throwing furniture out of a building from 14 stories up?  And was arrested for attacking a moving truck driver?  And the list goes on.  If someone walks to chalk all of these instances up to CTE or the actions of someone mentally ill, that is their right, but he gets zero benefit of the doubt from me. All of these armchair psychologists on Twitter who are convinced that the Burfict hit gave him CTE are talking out their you-know-whats.

I think most of us have some patience and understanding, and try to have more. But he has to take ownership for his actions and he has been given more chances than most ever get.  Lying to his team, refusing to play when coach says they need him in, and then blowing up like this, he deserves to be cut (and that’s ignoring a lot of other things). he’s a 33yo multi millionaire with access to the best treatment in the world.
You do this in any workplace and you’re probably fired.

If he truly felt like he had a concussion then he was right to not go back out on the field. The rest, remains unexcused.

this. Mental illness is no joke, but you still have responsibility for your actions.

Nowhere did I excuse any of his behavior.

You can be both mentally I'll AND a piece of crap at the same time.

Yes a lot of the behavior is exacerbated by his mental illness which is probably bipolar or schizoaffective disorder, but he sorta seems like he would be a jackass anyway.

His behavior impresses you?
Tongue in cheek. I guess that can get lost on a message board. It’s a sad world we live in. Multiple threads, posts, tweets, and discussions on Antonio Brown.

Nobody talking about Cyril Grayson. Except his teammates.

I hate to be that guy, but the Reddit conspiracy theories are flying that he engineered this halftime thing to quit on the Bucs because he was unhappy with Arians the last few months and wants to return to the Pittsburgh Steelers, of all teams (I'm guessing because Ben would be gone next season)?

As insane as that sounds, his 'rap' on IG kinda supports the notion of him wanting to be a Steeler.

I'm thinking as an undercard in the next Jake Paul fight
I posted the same thing in the other AB thread, I'm glad others thought similar. And I only picked Paul because you know he would jump all over that to get a splashy name in the ring.

Oh you said undercard, haha I want the two of them to square off

no chance this happens.

AB quit on the Steelers when the playoffs were on the line.   Then he quit on the Raiders and now the Bucs.

He is done in the NFL but will likely pop up in some reality TV show.
