WR Brandon Aiyuk, SF (2 Viewers)

The minds of Shanny and the Front Office, just a matter of time before they return to the Super Bowl
Definitely a winning culture, which makes me question how committed to football Aiyuk is.

On a related note, just imagine how Mike Singletary would have handled this.
I forgot he coached San Fran
Jim Tomsula made a stop as well around that time
And Chip Kelly
And crème de la crème, Dennis Erickson

Aiyuk could still help the 49ers make a Superbowl run this year
I am deeply skeptical that anyone inside or outside of this organization really believes this.

I believe Aiyuk's salary is guaranteed for this year, and he was a top receiver two seasons ago, so there is no reason not to try and make it work with Aiyuk this year.
If there's some clause that would re-guarantee it in the event of injury, the team won't want him anywhere near the field.

(If that happens, we'll see exactly how big the rift between SF and BA is🍿)
If you took $26M from me, you and I would have a sizable rift.

I went over this with a fine-toothed comb and AI last night to reconstruct timelines, do several truth matrices, and reconstruct what might have happened.

At this point, we ran an official-sounding but very vibey Bayesian analysis (which sounds complicated but isn’t and you’d understand in about a minute) and came up with a 65% chance the 49ers did him extraordinary dirty, 20% chance he did it to himself, and by way of and evaluating all the language used and facts we know (this was me knowing drug abuse and mental health situations and the types of expressions people use thereto), a 15% chance that they are protecting an employee from scrutiny or something deeper than that. There are things that don’t add up. I hate Shanny, but there are things that defy logic and don’t add up to the point where the machine says Hypo 3 that I introduced is actually much higher than it would have initially calculated. I can give the human version or the collaborative one. I would not be shocked if Aiyuk played for the 49ers come Week 15 if he physically is able.

Hypo 3 is not Occam’s razor, but a hope for everybody’s shared humanity. Otherwise, this is probably one of the ****tiest situations I’ve ever heard about in pro football.

But I’m holding out hope.

I would be absolutely stunned to see him ever don a 49ers uni again. There’s bad blood there both ways and Shanny is the type to wash his hands of it.

He sounded exasperated in that presser. Disgusted. Said in his entire career he’s never seen anything like it. My feeling watching that was that this was irreparable.

Yep. He lied (by omission and misdirection) or gave non-answers that whole press conference. He didn’t answer one question forthrightly or directly. If Aiyuk or the NFLPA have a change of heart, dude will wind up under oath.

The primary reason reported for the voided guaranteed money is Aiyuk's alleged failure to fulfill contractual obligations, specifically by failing to participate in team meetings and other team activities in recent months. The team voided these guarantees back in July, though the news was only recently reported.

49'ers might be doing something unprecedent. If I were Brandon, I'd have done everything to comply. I wonder what type of warnings he was given.

I just have 1 last comment. Please don't end up in Pittsburgh. The Steelers already have an overpaid WR.

It must have had something to do with the failure to rehab under the conditions contractually required over the summer. The timing means it didn’t have anything to do with missing meetings during training camp or the season.
