this has to be the surprise of the season so far
it's makes deebo fantasy gold however
Unfortunately, Deebo will be nicked sooner rather than later. Aiyuk will then be right back in the mix.

Yes, I'm scared Deebo will cut his own toenails too short and be out at least two weeks.Unfortunately, Deebo will be nicked sooner rather than later. Aiyuk will then be right back in the mix.
And I drafted both of those guys on the same team. Lol.sounds like Shanny Jr has a dog house, and he has two guys in it right now
As I understand it from local media, Sermon isn't "in the doghouse" - he just got outplayed in the preseason.sounds like Shanny Jr has a dog house, and he has two guys in it right now
Shenanigans. How is there not one SF beat writer that knew about this development?
Why they sink significant draft capital into offensive skill positions (aside from QB) is truly mind-boggling if this is the case.https://twitter.com/49ersbbqlover/status/1437455853716742154?s=21
““Kyle Shanahan’s roster is a meritocracy. Draft pick, contract, none of that matters. It’s about what have you shown me lately. That sets a tone in the locker room.” @JL_Chapman”
I don't think there's any evidence that says later round draft picks are smarter or work harder than early picks. It's on the coach and GM to interview players and determine the ones who are the best fit for their system. Don't forget that Deebo was essentially the exact same draft pick as Aiyuk, so they liked him at the time he was taken also. Why they sink significant draft capital into offensive skill positions (aside from QB) is truly mind-boggling if this is the case.
If Shanny is such a genius, why not just draft rounds 4 through 7 skill positions and make them fit your offense? What's funny is that Kittle is a 5th rounder, the RB's on the team have barely any draft capital / UDFA. Aiyuk has the most capital.
This guy is a turd.

He said to ignore skill positions until later in the draft. I'll flat out ask @TampaMike19 what he meant by that statement rather than trying to argue with you.tang, nowhere did that guy say this. He said something where you can't infer this from it.
Yes, he did. Nowhere did he say that they work harder or are smarter. There's no possible inference to make from what he said.He said to ignore skill positions until later in the draft. I'll flat out ask @TampaMike19 what he meant by that statement rather than trying to argue with you.
Oh, so later round draft picks are simply more skilled than ones taken earlier? Sure, that's what he meant. Absolutely.Yes, he did. Nowhere did he say that they work harder or are smarter. There's no possible inference to make from what he said.
Why is it we are just hearing about this now?https://twitter.com/nflrums/status/1437439726924046345?s=10
“NBC Sports' Matt Maiocco said #49ers Brandon Aiyuk "tailed off dramatically" during training camp and is "still learning how to be a pro." #NFL”
That’s my WR1.
Because he made it up.Why is it we are just hearing about this now?

Exactly. We saw him, everyone saw him. This is either an injury smokescreen or an attitude dog house. With either he’s a wait for. I’m not overreacting based on some beat writer who’s probably obsessed with surfing and Toad the Wet Sprocket.I think some of these writers just make stuff up all the time. Aiyuk proved he could be a pro last season during his rookie year.

For what it's worth -- and in my book, it's worth a lot -- the WR Oracle is telling me and everyone else to cool it with the Pettis comps:Anyone else having Dante Pettis flashbacks? Promising rookie season, all the sharks were in on him the following year, but it turned out he was in the doghouse (although we at least had some inkling of that fact beforehand) and he was basically never heard from again.
I kindly ask you do not compare Brandon Aiyuk to Dante Pettis.
Pettis had a bad #ReceptionPerception college profile and an average at best rookie year
Ayiuk showed true star potential as a rookie and maybe just recovering
One of these things is much easier to move away from.
For what it's worth -- and in my book, it's worth a lot -- the WR Oracle is telling me and everyone else to cool it with the Pettis comps:
Yes, I remember drafting Curtis Samuel two years ago on his recommendation. Still waiting on that one.Matt Harmon brought Aiyuk up in every show he did this summer. Elite reception perception numbers, like 96th percentile. Worth noting that isn’t always prescriptive, it often takes a player another year or two before he breaks out with a league winning (top 24) season.
dare I say a ploy to motivate?Hot Sauce Guy said:As I understand it from local media, Sermon isn't "in the doghouse" - he just got outplayed in the preseason.
I have no idea what happened with Aiyuk. Shocking.

Melvin Gordon/Tyson Williams/Devin Singletary RBBC guy, and/or an upside WR, who produced in week 1, like a Reagor. And what value / risk would you take??
TY ... Sensible... I offered Chubb & Fuller for Javonte, Rhamondre, Aiyuk & 2022 2nd prior to week 1 and was told too expensive "future" valueMelvin Gordon/Tyson Williams/Devin Singletary RBBC guy, and/or an upside WR, who produced in week 1, like a Reagor.
Yeah he came on in the second half of last season. And I didn't mean my previous post as a shot at Harmon. I think he knows his stuff, and obviously no one is going to bat 1.000. I see it more as a caveat that, no matter what the analyst's approach, they can't account for everything. Samuel is a talented WR, but he had a series of popgun-armed QBs in Carolina who were unable to get him the ball deep. With Aiyuk, Harmon's model may incorporate his measurables and route running, but can't measure the effect of him being in Shanny's doghouse (assuming that's what happened).Samuel delivered in spades last year. He had his groin issue in the offseason & never got right. Fortunately I sold between his performing well & getting hurt. Lucky as heck, really.
I was worried back in the preseason, before anyone got hurt, about the "too many mouths" factor in SF, especially if they eventually go to Lance. Rookie QBs historically don't support more than one relevant fantasy target.I love the talent, and would like to try to make a buy low move for him this week, but anyone else concerned with target share now that the team is healthy? He did seem to do most of his damage down the stretch with Kittle out. And Deebo wasn't the picture of healthy either. With those two back at 100% (for now) and Young Shanny's run focus, are there going to be the targets there this year to produce? The counter to this is of course Kittle and Deebo are an injury waiting to happen, so the target share issue should sort itself out on its own. What do you all think?
I would love to play in leagues where......oh, nevermind.Got dropped in one of my leagues, which I consider pretty shocking. I'll definitely be putting in a claim.

As someone with him on your roster, has your value of him gone done significantly from last week? Without getting to “assistant coach forum” would your be looking to move him for another WR, possibly someone in the Tyler Boyd tier?As someone who's got Aiyuk on the roster these are good thoughts. I've got him on the bench this week and am in wait and see mode for the near future. Too early to tell at this point but I'm already pessimistic.
Small bench league? Even so, I don't get this move at all. Aiyuk has a mile-high ceiling and MJJ is a floor play.Maybe this lights a fire under his be hind. Never thought I'd be dropping him this early, but I dropped him for Marvin Jones, Jr. who seems better prepared to contribute than Aiyuk.
FBG's have Jones, Jr. at WR #37 going forward averaging about 10 per game and they have Aiyuk at WR #58 averging around 8 points per game - that's a potential +33. Add the negative comments on his preseason, coach discipline, and others leap frogging him.Small bench league? Even so, I don't get this move at all. Amen.Between this and Sermon, Young Shanny has truly staked his claim to being the rightful Fantasy Troll King.![]()
House Belichick has sat on the iron throne for a while now, but Young Shanny has truly embraced his father’s legacy and become fantasy’s ultimate villain.
