Nick Wagoner:
And again, the 49ers trading WR Brandon Aiyuk right now would make little to no sense unless they were getting a difference making player back in return.
The Niners are trying to win a Super Bowl. This year. Trading one of their best players for 2025 draft picks doesn't help.

Yep, the team wants to keep him and he's under contract for this year. They don't have to do anything and hopefully Aiyuk isn't disgruntled. It is unfortunate it has gotten to this point.
He has a chance to win a SB this year. Play it out and ball out and then go somewhere next year if they don't offer you something good.
They certainly don't HAVE to do anything, but if they continue to refuse to negotiate and won't entertain a trade, it's a pretty good bet Aiyuk will be disgruntled this season.
Can't imagine that kind of distraction in the locker room all season will help in their pursuit of a SB.
And balling out and Aiyuk just going somewhere next season won't happen. SF will just tag him. WR tag this year is ~$21m. Less than the $26m/yr they reportedly offered. He will be even more disgruntled then.
I'm expecting a lot of nagging injuries and missed games this year if something doesn't get worked out, either contract or trade wise.
Eh
All he’d be doing is hurting his future earnings by acting like a malcontent,
Plus he’d be letting his teammates down in a Super Bowl window, like a petulant child. And from everything we know about Aiyuk, that isn’t his MO.
He’s got a reputation as a team guy, who’s a willing blocker and selfless player. I’m skeptical he throws that all out the window over a contract when he knows he’s gonna get his bag eventually.
I could see this going down like the Deebo deal. I could also see him playing under the tag.
I do not see a scenario where he hurts his own future earnings by being disgruntled and letting it impact his on field performance. That would be self-destructive, and he’s smarter than that.
