Seems like Mac Jones is a better QB than Trevor Lawrence, that is what it comes down to it looks like
Last year with Jones the passing game was better, Thomas was better.
Know it is a new coach, staff, offense, etc
You may be right Guss. Lawrence has not come close to meeting his 1.01 potential
another way to look at it is Brian Thomas Jr. is a better fantasy wide receiver catching passes from Mac Jones in a Doug Pederson pass-first offense on a team with limited offensive weapons that plays from behind due to a lousy defense than he is with Trevor Lawrence in a run first offense on a team that has invested in the skill positions (Hunter, Brown, Tuten) with a strong defense that keeps the O in a positive-neutral game script most of the time
These two variables--an effective offensive line that has produced good rushing results (except for last night), and a strong defense- are both surprises to me as a Jags fan
I expected a lot of shootouts due to a lousy defense and a mediocre run game, which would have benefited BTJ's fantasy stats.
The fact that Trevor only attempted 25 passes in a 59 point game against the Chiefs would have been nothing I'd have guesses preseason
Trevor has to get better, that's a fact, and I think Thomas will get his as the season goes on. But this might be a case where good IRL football detrimentally affects our fantasy teams
