WR Cedric Tillman, CLE (1 Viewer)

I have Khalil Shakir in over Tillman for now…monitoring this thread for something to sway me.
For now, I agree, Shakir is a pretty solid PPR option. Not sure why he only played 58% of snaps though, last week, to Colemans 83%
Shakir has had a limited snap count all year - I think that's just the way the use him. When they go run heavy, he's probably not on the field much. Probably a pretty high target to route run rate though.

Walking in a WR desert for weeks now, Tillman was an oasis last week. Not leaving until the water's gone dry.
Fortunately I'm not in that situation. Trying to decide whether to sell now for what I can get, or if his value can be expected to rise (redraft). He's not likely to ever crack my starting line-up - Chase, Puka, McLaurin.

You have a gunslinger qb throwing passes to a receiver who is big and excels at getting open and or contested catches. This is a buy low in dynasty to me but next year who knows?

talent is there- situation is ok. I think a great target for contenders
Fair points. The kid definitely seems to have talent - the question will remain why he showed absolutely nothing up until the past few weeks. Granted he had some incumbents ahead of him who, by way of obvious viability (Cooper) or draft capital/money (Jeudy and Moore) were blocking him, but it does create some skepticism that he's another guy (not unlike Jalen Coker) who just popped for a few games before heading back to mediocrity.

In any event, I'd rather throw a good amount of FAAB at him to find out - nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Did Moore or Jeudy show anything until the last couple of weeks? He has spent his entire career with the Browns version of Deshaun Watson. And in his first two games with a new opportunity, he's seized it. No guarantee of continued success, but more likely than someone who randomly throws up two good weeks with no change to the situation around them.
Fully agree. Clearly the situation has improved the results of Moore and Jeudy as well. What will be interesting to see if Tillman can separate himself from those two lackluster incumbents.
I always had a soft spot for Moore and his thought he would be a slot machine in PPR. I still think once they face the upcoming tougher defenses that Moore will be the most consistent option. Time will tell. I hold Cedric so hope he continues to show.
From what I understand, Moore is exclusively in the slot. Cedric took over for Cooper as the X, which fits more with where Winston has historically favored, no?
yup

Facing the Chargers and the number 1 defense in the league (on FFPC anyway) - will be hard to not start him this week, though. I don't trust Tank tonight and I don't trust Metcalf if he plays.

Firing him up this week boys?
If Tee Higgins doesn't play I will play him. If he pops off again I am benching DJ Moore for him moving forward.
I have a flotsam of Reed and Tank Dell and I start 2 of 3, I think I like Tillman more and more
All I really had at WR prior to picking up Tillman were Higgins and DJ Moore. I'm absolutely stacked at RB and had tried packaging some trades to some of the WR-heavy teams to get more depth but couldn't get any takers. I'm liking Tillman's prospects a lot and he's giving me what I think will be really solid WR depth that I was lacking.

Reed won me my league last year, and I'm hopeful TIllman can have a similar impact

I'm in similar situations (also toss in McLaurin, Josh Downs, Devonta Smith, McCloud, Tre Trucker etc.).

I'm rolling Dell and Devonta Smith over Tillman solely because Tillman will be competing with Jeudy and Moore for targets whereas Dell just has Collins and Smith is 1B to Brown. I am going with Tillman over Downs because Downs has similar target competition and uncertainty.

I'm going with Tillman for the Jameis gunslinger factor

Which is, of course, a nice factor.

I really want to start him over Waddle and Pittman (after JJ and Kupp with Deebo on bye).

But this just doesn't seem like the week. Chargers-Browns has 17-10 written all over it. And of course, Waddle and PIttman finally have some hope again (and better match-ups).

Maybe it's just seeing Waddle and Pittman suck for months, but in spite of what should be the right answer, I get the feeling Tillman is going to go bonkers in a bad match-up while Waddle and PIttman keep scuffling.

Anyway, I think Tillman is really good and has the perfect gunslinger throwing to him. I'm going to be one of them, but many of us are going to regret leaving him on the bench this week.

it's hard to run on the Chargers and they are opening it up a little. This game could turn into a sneaky shoot-out. Tillman is Jameis' best WR and Jameis knows that.

Tillman busting out 150/2 even in a tough matchup wouldn't shock me. I can't say that about Waddle and PIttman.

Nevermind, I'm starting him over Waddle and Pittman. If it bites me, screw it. I'll just be excited to see Waddle and Pittman do something. It's been a long time.

Tillman or Ridley this week? That is what I am debating in my mind.
Oof. These are all brutal decisions.

All-around, so many WR disappointments and guys we don't trust this year.

And here comes TIllman who really looks like he might be that dude down the stretch, even with tough match-ups.

GL everybody, I have no idea what the answer is.

Listen this isn’t breaking news.

Tillman may have as much ceiling as any universally available free agent YTD in redraft.

Roll the dice. This is what we do.

In PPR I am starting Tillman over Waddle. It may bite me but I’m done with Waddle. I know he’s only had 1 game back with Tua and Buffalo matchup is much better (and should be a shoot out) but I can just see Waddle having the same game he seems to have every other game where he gets dinged up and is in and out of the lineup and comes up small. Riding the CT wave.

Bump for the Tillman express. All aboard! LAC pass D not too scary. They give up yards and TDS. Only shutdown games were against Car/Bryce and last week NO/Rattler. Average or above avg QBs do fine, toss for around 250 or so.

Winston reminded us he’s a backup for a reason and the good Lord didn’t save him today. I guess it could have been worse…

As someone who was banging the Tillman drum as a rookie and failed to get him in both my rookie drafts I’m absolutely delighted to have just picked him up as part of a bigger deal where I also got Sun God.

Finally on this train properly, just a shame I need to wait a week for him to make his debut for me !

How’re people feeling about Tillman ROS? I’m a little spooked by this browns offense outside of Njoku. Just looking for some perspective.

I tend to still like him a little more than how he is ranked.

Targets are there, James airs it out, Browns will be playing from behind and passing often.

But if Jameis doesn’t play for whatever reason I don’t think Tillman will do much.

People forget that Tampa Bay Jameis helped make 3 WRs and the TE relevant on O. Tillman/Jeudy/Moore have eerily similar numbers; I'm confident they'll be solid contributors.

Small sample size of highs and lows, but wondering if Tillman was just another flash in the pan for a few games and he is who we thought he was. Doesn’t help that Jeudy seems to finally be showing he’s a player and Winston is understandably looking Jeudy’s way more.

Hard to trust any Browns player not named Nick Chubb. I thought perhaps Tillman was running away with the WR1 role after the Cooper trade but that may have been premature. The Browns have more invested in Jeudy as they traded for him and immediately signed him to a contract extension, on top of having the pedigree advantage: Jeudy was a 5-star recruit out of HS, Alabama product, and has 1st round draft capital whereas Tillman was a 3-star recruit, Tennessee product, and 3rd round draft capital. This could still go either direction, but if the Browns bring in a new starting WR this offseason my bet would be Jeudy remaining as a first stringer and Tillman being the one relegated to second stringer.

The market over-reacted after his 3 game hot streak. It appears the market is now over-reacting after a 2nd year 3rd round prospect had 2 not great performances, one in which was in a snow globe and he was knocked out early with a concussion.

The truth lies somewhere in between, y'all.
