WR Cooper Kupp, SEA (5 Viewers)

It has to be the Chiefs. Tampa might be able to get by for a few weeks without Evans.
KC has Super Bowl win on their mind and I have no doubt Andy can scheme him open.

No way Chiefs have the money even if Rams eat some salary.

From an FF perspective, KC would tank Kupp's value. KC is happy pounding the football with the rush and relying on their defense to keep the game in check. Tampa will need to throw and throw.

Totally agree. I think his fantasy value takes a massive hit no matter where he goes. He and Stafford have otherworldly rapport. That isn't just going to be replicated somewhere else.

Kupp Would only help Mahomes’ value.

You have to stay healthy to bring value to Mahomes. Kupp cannot stay healthy.

Sadly agree.

What a bummer. You wait this long for him to come back...as a WR3.

Why are they talking of trading Kupp? I'm not saying they are going to win a Super Bowl, but the NFC West is WIDE OPEN. And at 2-4, the Rams have been limping along, but doing just enough to stay in contention for the division. Just seems so odd to me to look as though you are throwing in the towel now with the division leader (who you still play twice) at 4-2... and you are just about to get your offense closer to full strength as you've been throwing to nobodies.

:I am not an NFL GM:

Huh? No way even if he was shipped to the Titans

Rams are not trading Kupp, they could be that divisions best team once Kupp/Nacua take the field again.
That seems contrary to reports where it sounds like the Rams are actually being aggressive in making calls to teams (vs. sitting back and waiting for calls).
I would be surprised if McVay throws in the towel. Their front office has a strong history of using draft capital to get players they wanted versus trading players away for picks.

Rams were 3-6 last year entering their bye. From there, with a rested/healthy Stafford, they went 7-1 down the stretch and made the playoffs. In listening to local TV/radio, the feeling is that they are in a very similar position this year. Not Stafford getting healthy, but just getting through this stretch and allowing their top WR's to get healthy. If they can get through the next two games (MIN on TNF and @SEA next week) with a split, they then have a couple of very winnable games against MIA and NE, both of which are struggling. If they're 5-5 at that point, the belief is that they would be in another position to make a run for the playoffs in a division where 10-7 or 9-8 might win it. And, their last two games are within the division, and at home (ARI and SEA).

In other words, barring an offer they can't refuse, I'd be surprised if they trade Kupp. They believe that they are very much in the mix for a playoff spot, despite the poor start.

KC was feeding Rice before his injury.
Kupp wouldn't be running those same type of routes IMO.
Come on now. A healthy Kupp with Mahomes tossing the rock is good. They would find a way to connect without any issues.

Trade rumors
Gotta luv 'em
A healthy Kupp is a healthy Kupp
Whether it's Stafford or Mahomes at qb Cooper will put up his usual top 5 numbers every week
Mahomes would benefit more than Cooper from a fantasy standpoint, imop

Why are they talking of trading Kupp?
Maybe people are looking at this the wrong way and Kupp is the one driving the trade request?

I think his situation is actually a lot like Davante Adams situation was with the Raiders and he's not jacked up about the idea that he's 31 years old and only has $5M left in guarantees in his contract.

The way the Rams have gone about this entire off-season was to give them the flexiblity to move on from Stafford and/or Kupp after this season. The tell of this is always when a player has a high base salary with multiple years left in the deal and the team does not convert the base to bonus.

So, if the Rams are actually shopping Kupp...where does he end up? I would think they'd trade him to an AFC team.

"Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp (ankle) may not remain with the team through the trade deadline, as the team is reportedly open to trading him and taking on some salary to get a deal done, according to The Athletic's Dianna Russini. The team is reportedly asking for a second-round draft pick in return."
Tampa just lost their two best wideouts, he'd get fed there.

Did Baker and Cupp play together when Baker had a couple starts for the Rams?

I can’t remember if they overlapped or maybe Cupp was hurt.

Unfortunately no. Kupp missed the last 8 games of 2022, Baker got traded mid-season and took over in week 14.

So from a different angle if Kupp is traded who is the Rams WR to pick up?
It doesn't make a lot of sense when comparing the two players, but going back to last year Tutu has been really solid when Kupp doesn't play and basically invisible when Kupp does play.

You don't think he'd slot right into what Juju was doing his one week off the couch? It seems like what kc is missing and what Kupp does well. But TB to replace Godwin (in what everyone was calling "the Kupp role" already) makes the most sense.

Guessing the Titans caved a bit and gave in to the Chiefs demands once Kupp was rumoured to be on the market. Still shocked to see the Rams consider trading him.

This would have been one of the better landing spots for him but still not as good with Stafford. Bullet dodged.

Now just pray someone like the Steelers tries to get him.

I think the Rams could be looking at this long term and getting out in front of paying salaries for players that are aging. Their title window has closed and they were hoping to be competitive this year. Kupp has been injured the past two seasons and is approaching 32. There is a slim chance they could win the division but if the GM and McVay had the honest conversation they both know they are not contenders in the playoffs.

I don’t know what the scouts and GMs are seeing, but this guy to the Chiefs should have been a no-brainer and a world-beating type of thing. Now the Chiefs got DeAndre Hopkins, but what good does that really do them? What about KC is contested catch? It’s motion, movement, and YAC.

Which guy sounds like the better fit?

Agreed...the x-factor in all of this is Stafford and how long they project him being their starter...if that window is about to close it is definitely time to start the new era.

Price to acquire and cost of contract may have been the deciding factor.

It is possible and could make sense, however it just has not been their historical pattern. Maybe tomorrow’s game will be the deciding factor in it. They are a different team with Kupp/Puka obviously and the division seems more up for grabs if they can get healthy. However, 2-5 would be a tough hill climb. I think it would boil down to if someone is willing to give up enough for it to make sense.

I saw on the TV that the Rams were seeking a 2nd Rd pick, a team could also offer a conditional 3rd and perhaps a 2nd pick to sweeten the deal
Kupp has been injury prone the last couple seasons, really since his amazing 2021 campaign. I would like to see him land on a tam with a quality QB

-This would not be my 1st choice as a FF GM however...I wrote a week or two ago that it was time for Washington to step out there and get Daniels another weapon at WR
It has nothing to do with Terry, I think another addition right now in 2024 is an ideal move for a team that is suddenly staring at a possible Division Title in Daniels' 1st year
Don't wait until the Draft next year and look at who you are facing this week, the Chicago Bears and look what they are rolling out at Wide Receiver vs what Washington has

I understand DC is a young team and they want to hold on to their assets and build around Daniels the right way. They are doing a good job so far BUT...there is no reason to wait
I would pull the trigger or instruct my GM to make phone calls to the Rams if I owned the team. Kupp would take that offense up another level and free up McLaurin

That kind of team would have me thinking they could advance past the 1st round of the Playoffs, much like theTexans did last season. There are similarities between those 2 QBs
Also if I were the Chicago Bears I would make phone calls...sure you would need to move Moore or Allen and he just got there but the Kupp/Odunze/DJ Moore combo
It would look like the Run n Shoot from the Houston Oilers back in the early 90s.

Even a guy like me who's in pursuit of a couple grocery runs worth of money and a cartoon trophy can see that he is going to get injured time and time again until he just isn't viable. If it's been happening for what, 3 consecutive seasons, why wouldn't it continue? And more to the point, how can any NFL staff not see the same?

I am not a Rams fan but I figured all of this was based on decisions made to build their team in the past with veterans to win the Super Bowl. I think the decision is already made on that they want to trade Kupp based off a few articles I read. This article, Rams future picks explains some details that the team and GM seem to be changing the way they build their team. I was not aware of this but they are highlighting that the Rams have no draft picks in the 2025 draft in rounds 2,5 and 7. They also don't have as many compensatory picks which used to be the way they could get draft captial. Kupp could have been a Chief but the Rams wanted a "high draft pick" and the Chiefs needed another team to offset some salary from what I read.

Supposedly TENN is eating a large portion of Hopkins remaining base salary this year. I imagine that was a pretty big factor as Hopkins was due like $8MM in remaining salary and KC only had like $4MM in cap space left. Kupp is more at like $12MM remaining in base salary at this time so Rams would have to eat a lot more of it to make it work for KC

Have him rostered in two leagues. Love his game/upside. Uber-talented WR.

That being said.....don't trust him any further than I can throw him. Have a sneaky suspicion that CMac will be in that same camp also, sooner rather than later.
