WR Cooper Kupp, SEA (6 Viewers)

It sucks for the people who started him, but man he's gonna be fine going forward. Coming into this game Kupp was WR6 in PPG in PPR. His 4 weeks prior to this he scored: 28.6, 22.0, 4.7, and 20.2, which was WR5 over that stretch.

If you advanced despite this egg, you start him next week, if you are in a guillotine league, he's a premier target if his team loses.
Not everyone is in ppr leagues. And who is advancing with a freaking 0 from a player.

Someone who has other good players could advance. One team in one of my leagues got under 25 points from 7 players last week, and easily won, because they had Josh Allen and Ja'Marr Chase.

I actually posted the non-PPR ranks for Kupp. The PPR ranks were WR7 over the last 4 weeks, and WR5 PPG (WR4 if you don't count Godwin) for the season. So pretty much the same.

Yep. This is how it goes with the non elite options at wr. Especially this year. In hindsight, a must-win for both teams division game in the rain was a good setup for a dogfight. And Kupp eats after Puka and Kyren now so he won't grind out points in those games like he used to. But he's still a very good option in the game script the rams usually find themselves in.
Hopefully Saquon/Bowers/Evans/Tee or someone else can carry me so I get the chance 🤞

Gotta handle adversity if you're gonna win titles...I think something like Kupp's goose egg gets magnified because it happened on a Thursday night and now it just lingers there until Sunday.

Had him going in both my playoff games along with a couple other guys from last night, hard to believe he put up a goose egg, last time he did that was in 2019, not impossible but my chances are quite slim, on the bright side I don't have to stress much about lineup decisions this weekend any longer.

It gets magnified because it's the FF playoffs!

I didn't watch the game, but he only got 3 targets, which all came early. And from the comments in the game thread, it sounds like all 3 were terrible throws by Stafford. Stafford only had 27 attempts vs 38 rushes.

Starting the weekend with a goose egg against the team projected to get high score this week isn't ideal. I'm gonna need some boffo performances from the rest of my team.

I think that part is a given!

Steady rain through 1st half. Looked like Kupp was covered like a blanket to me. He was slow to get off the line in the 2nd half. He did not look himself last night.

I hate Thursday games. And I benefitted from playing AGAINST Kupp.

Unless Kupp has a few big games the rest of the way, he may turn out to be a bargain again in next year's drafts because owners will probably remember this night when he torpedoed their playoff chances.

just didn't see anything pre game about weather having an impact, none of the betting lines seemed to move much as far as I could tell

No, it was a complete surprise. Rain stopped before kickoff (as forecast), and then the skies opened up... BIG TIME. Entire first half was a wipeout. Game plans getting scrapped/rewritten on the fly. Players already on short rest now dealing with a sloppy field and wet football.

Brutal to all you managers- the stakes were pretty high for both teams but the Rams pulled out the win. I still don't understand how players goose egg though when they're paid this much and are this involved in their respective offenses.

27 attempts and Nacua had 33%-ish target share. Still seems unacceptable. Perhaps Kupp is washed?

Unfortunate timing for this that's for sure.

I'll consider myself lucky. One league where I started Kupp my opponent also started J. Jennings (5.1 points) and G. Kittle (10.1 points). So it ended up being a wash as the projected difference now is essentially what it was prior to the game.

All that said, I've been saying for a while in this thread that Puka is the big time alpha dog now and we have to reset expectations with Kupp. If I survive I just hope he can get me to 15 PPR points next week.

I am soooo drafting Puka next year. I didn't realize until I watched him carefully (since I had Kupp) how much of a beast this guy is.

I had a bye, but like I said in another thread, I am starting Sutton over Kupp next week (and hopefully the week after). Puka is the alpha.

I have been trying to acquire Puka in dynasty all year. Other owner however wants Collins (understandably so I guess)

good and bad thing is he runs like a beast after the catch. i'm always wary he's going to get up after the tackle. its ok to go out of bounds once in a while. ask Franco Harris :-)

The good part with it being on a Thursday you can adjust your lineup if you have high ceiling options because now you are likely going to need that boom play. If you were on the fence for a couple players on Sunday now you can just roll the dice with the high ceiling guy because you need it.

People that started him shouldn’t lose faith. All it takes is an opponents RB to go down in a first quarter, some bad weather to materialise, a random concussion to occur or a QB to simply have a nightmare. Defenses can get multiple pick six out of nowhere etc etc I overcame a donut from Reed last week. I’ve also lost to teams that didn’t even field full lineups. Far from over for those that started him

Yeah. All these people acting like it’s over need to buck up.

It ain’t over till it’s over.

Was it over when the German’s bombed Pearl Harbor?

I won a matchup this year with -4 from the Buffalo defense. Believe in your guys. The other team could have two players crap the bed and you are right back in this thing!

I am one of the lucky few Kupp owners to have a bye this week. And yes, I will gladly start him in week 16. How soon we forget Kupp trailed only Chase and Nacua since returning in week 8.

And you will be disappointed. In what scoring platform?? I know most play the ppr format but he's had one 100 yard game & one double digit catch game since he came back. 45 catches in 8 games is not even close to elite. Some of us who aren't in ppr, he's been average at best

I dunno your scoring format, but the majority of today's leagues are PPR. And you are wrong. He went over 100 in weeks 9 & 11. He also scored TD's in weeks 8, 12, and 14. If average WR's are averaging 6.3 catches per game, I'll take a bunch of them!

Someone who hits a lottery ticket on Sunday.

Imagine if you were in 1st place for $500,000 in the regular season and now the 3 week playoff sprint started for the big money and you had Kupp, Kyren and Kittle.............
Not what we dream about in the playoffs and yes we want TD's, but aside from the total-outlier scoreless game by Kupp, it would be hard to complain about Kyren and Kittle.

I like to say FF is never won or lost on a Thursday.

I'm another. Fortunately I locked up a bye even before taking a zero from Jayden Reed last week. I will start both next week. Can't happen a third time, right?

100%...it just feels that way until 1:00 on Sunday!

I got my bye in part because my opponent started Jayden Reed last week. As for Kupp, he's played in 102 games in his career. This past Thursday was only the 2nd time he got a goose egg.

I feel like when a key offensive weapon is shut out, the team often goes out of their way to get him involved the next week. Us playoff-bye-week-Kupp-survivors will hopefully reap the benefits next week.

well the difference for me is I am playing vs about 1,500 playoff teams. So if you are not putting up great scores you can kiss that $500K or any major prize good bye.
There is just no room for a 0 from Kupp and mid games from your star players. They avg 55 in the regular season and combined for 23.

So the way it works is even though I finished 1st place in the regular season out of 5136 teams they take your avg score for the playoffs for weeks 15-17 and then add those 3 weeks.

So that 100 point lead I had on 10th place becomes a 6 point lead ect.

Right but know its those who were counting on Kupp hoping that at least 2 of their opponents guys go out this week early with stingers.

I read Sean Settle's article concerning bad matchups for WRs. There was no mention of good or bad matchups with Nacua or Kupp. My concern is Sauce Gardner and who he will cover. I am guessing Nacua. With Kupp laying an egg last week, luckily I was on a bye, I would guess the team would want to make up for that. Anyone have any insight on who Gardner would cover?

No doubt Sauce is on Puka. Kupp is usually out of the slot and moved around a lot while Sauce is on the perimeter usually where Puka is.

Jets have been giving it up to everyone through the air.

I'm giving Kupp a muligan for last week. Starting him without question.
