WR D.J. Chark, ATL (2 Viewers)

Man he's good.

Minshew was fun but nothing special. Foles is the guy who can unlock Chark's full potential and I think that's obvious

Foles was targeting him MUCH more then Minshew ever was.  Love to see that.  He also under threw him on 2 deep balls, once Foles gets use to Charks speed it could be huge.

Always does great on my bench, disappoints when I start him. What do people see as his value in a keeper league? Top 15 WR next year? Top 10? Top 5?

Fantasy football stats to know from Week 11

Excerpt:

3. After averaging just 2.9 fantasy points per game in his rookie season, D.J. Chark ranks sixth among wide receivers in fantasy points per game (18.1).

Earlier in the season we questioned whether Chark could keep up his WR1 pace. Not only was his hot start to the season entirely unexpected, but he was also a little too overly efficient, producing like a WR1 on WR3 volume. Then, he started to see better and more consistent volume. Heading into Week 11, Chark was questioned again – would he continue to be as productive with Nick Foles as he was with Gardner Minshew?

After a big Week 11 (30.4 fantasy points), I think it’s finally time to stop questioning Chark. At the very least, it’s clear Foles’ return won’t be getting in the way. Minshew targeted Chark on 21% of his throws. So far, Foles has targeted Chark on a would-be league-high 31% of his attempts, with Chark comprising 39% of his yards and 100% of his touchdowns.

picked up BDN couple weeks ago and started both him and Chark. signs of good things to come i hope. Foles was noticeably off on many of his throws and Chark kept going after the bad ones. At least twice it was inadvisable and Chark was slow to get up. i love all the targets, but i hope Foles don't kill him while trying to get back into rhythm.

You and I must be in perfect rhythm because it is the story of my season and rapidly dwindling title hopes.  Hoping I can unleash a Chark attack or two and turn this ship around.

Never sir your studs. He is WR6 in ppg for both ppr and standard. He's coming off a 15 target 8/104/2 game and he has a cake schedule rest of the way. He is 10th in receiving yards and leads the NFL in TD receptions. He is on pace for a sophomore season with 81/1273/13 on an awful offense with questionable QB play.. Add in 2nd round draft capital, SEC pedigree, 6'3" with 4.34 speed, 40 inch vertical and a 90th percentile broad jump. This is a league winner.

Id love to know who the heck you sit him for. I got TY coming back and no way am I sitting Chark for TY. Heck id even sit Kupp before Chark.

Or a guy sitting at 2-8. In some, anyway.
Not his fault they are 2-8. By league winner, I mean some one who was gotten for a very small investment but will return borderline elite value. He’s basically giving you Amari Cooper points for roughly what people paid in FAAB for John Ross or Ty Johnson.

Funny you should say that...Kupp is one of the guys I've been sitting him for. I have Hopkins, Tyreek, and Kupp (no, not a two team league, keeper league, I got Hill off waivers several years ago and kept him since). But I invariably guess wrong and start the guy I shouldn't.

Yeah those are some good WRs. I've been "lucky" to have DJ fill in for adams and ty while they've been hurt and kupp now struggling. I consider Chark my #1 now.

I sat him for Sutton and Diggs this week. Chark is at 18ppg, Diggs at 17 and Sutton at 16. Sutton is more consitant with a deviation of about 5 points a week and Chark is at 11 point deviation.

Always fair to pose the question but the answer is that Minshew played really good and not just for a rookie. He did some rookie things, too, but if anything the QB play of the Jags has been very solid. Foles has certainly been throwing it to him.

I posted in the redraft trade thread but last week I moved Julio, James White and Mark Andrews for Chark, Diggs, Singletary and Jonnu Smith. Worked out so far.

they want to run the ball more this week. Something to keep in mind. I don't know if Adoree shadows Chark this game but if not, should still have a solid stat line.

Tough game for Chark just because Titans play so slow it will allow the Jags to lean run heavy. He won’t see anything close to 15 targets Sunday.

Good point. Just looking at it fantasy wise, Jags QB group has been average.

Minshew carried me through a few weeks when I needed someone. Those were *his* footprints in the sand. Lol just kidding I'm kind of goofy this morning. I chose Cam in quite a few leagues and scrambled a bit to replace him and Minshew was actually pretty dang good. Not league winning good but certainly adequate. 20.8 per game isn't losing me anything.

He seemed to see the field really well, has a good arm, delivered high quality targets, and was able to move the ball and sustain drives. Even if it is average for fantasy (from the QB position), I would argue it is/was a better than average fantasy situation for the surrounding cast, i.e., Fournette and Chark. The overall strength of the offense went up. I didn't get to see the Foles game this past weekend, but I'm confident in his ability to feed the Chark and lead the team in a positive way as well, even if Foles is ultimately average for fantasy, too.

I don't love the matchup this weekend either, but he is an autostart unless you have some other ridiculous options, which is possible since Chark was a waiver pickup in most places.

You're not seeing much value from the overall wr6 who led the league in touchdown receptions before today?
And in the next 4 weeks gets Tampa (worst against the oass on the year), Chargers (ok they are good against the oass) and then Oakland (7th worst) and Atlanta (8th worst).

Will say I’m hating the game plan.  I know Marrone felt like they threw to much last game and he wanted more balance but so far more balance seems to mean just give or throw the ball to Fournette.  That’s not balance.

D.J. Chark chipped in with five catches for 38 yards on six targets Sunday in the Jaguars’ Week 12 loss to the Titans.

Even with Nick Foles forced to throw 30 times in the second half, Chark was never involved in Sunday's blowout. This was the first time he failed to score a touchdown with Foles under center (they've only shared the field three times this season), though Chark did pitch in by nabbing a two-point conversion. Chark has run hot and cold this year, alternating monster weeks with frustrating no-shpws. Obviously, Sunday would fall into the latter category. Though it didn't click for Chark Sunday, a bounce-back game should be in order with the Bucs' helpless secondary coming to town in Week 13.

Chark has been solid, but his fantasy contribution is pretty TD dependent in standard, and reception and TD dependent in PPR.

Luckily he has scored 8 TDs this season, with a few multiple TD games, and has been the primary receiver on the team. But he is prone to games like today.

Week 2 he had 55 yards against HOU, but 7 receptions and a TD helped his fantasy teams.

Week 4 @ DEN he had 44 yards, and only 4 receptions, so subpar game.

Two weeks later at home v NO, he was 3 for 43 and the following week @ CIN had 3 for 53 -- both subpar game (under 10 points in my league's scoring).

He faced HOU again WEEK 9 and had 4 for 32 despite being targeted 9 times.

Then today, 6 targets, 5 receptions 38 yards, with a 2 PT conversion.

Chark is a contributor and when he booms, he booms (@ TEN last week, @ IND earlier in the season, and the opener vs KC).

He can get you a subpar day, but it's really hard to sit him given his ability to explode. There aren't too many options that have better upside when he's on.

I worry about DeDe Westbrook siphoning targets, which wasn't an issue when Minshew was under center -- getting >9 targets is what helps fuel Chark's game. I feel good that he has that chance against TB. LAC, and ATL down the stretch, all of whom can put points up if they are on.

D.J. Chark caught 2-of-5 targets for 47 yards in the Jaguars' Week 13 loss to the Bucs.

Chark had 0-0 with Nick Foles in the first half before Foles was benched. Chark made a diving 30-yard catch in the second half to set up Dede Westbrook's three-yard touchdown two plays later. That was about it for the second-year wideout. Chark will do battle with Casey Hayward and the Chargers in Jacksonville next week.
