WR Davante Adams, LAR (2 Viewers)

Davante Adams caught 3-of-7 targets for 124 yards and two touchdowns in the Raiders' Week 5 loss to the Chiefs Monday night.

Adams led the team in targets and receiving yards while also catching both of Derek Carr's touchdown passes. The first was a 58-yarder where Adams blew past the defense, and Carr lofted one into a waiting Adams' arms. On 4th-and-1 in the fourth quarter, down 30-23, Adams caught a second long touchdown from 48 yards out, beating rookie CB Jaylen Watson's coverage. The Raiders went for two and failed. Adams made more plays that didn't show up in the box score, drawing a couple long DPI calls, totaling 48 yards. The missed connection on the final play on 4th-and-1 late in the fourth when Adams and Hunter Renfrow ran into each other was the tough miss, however, as Adams slammed his helmet in frustration on the sideline and then shoved a cameraman to the ground on the way back to the locker room. Adams has three 100-yard games and five touchdowns through five games with the Raiders headed into their bye before a Week 7 date with the Texans.

Felt bad for the guy he pushed. I was actually embarrassed for him. Not a good look for Adams at all. A hefty fine and a minimum of 1 game suspension.

The man is holding sound equipment and did not have his hands free to even defend himself. He's completely defenseless there and I don't think the guy sustained any major injuries from it but that's not the point.

Those sound and camera crews work tirelessly to bring us the best experience at home.

Adams is on a whole bunch of my teams, still think he should get a suspension for this and send a message that all violence outside of the gridiron is unacceptable.

Good that he apologized right away, although doing in on Twitter makes it less impactful, but should still be a fine and suspension. If a fan pushed a player like that, they'd be banned from the stadium for life and likely arrested (as they should be). Players cannot be above facing the music when doing the same.

I like Davante and he's a good guy. But this was a BS move. I get he's frustrated. But no excuse for shoving the guy. And it wasn't a light shove either. And his apology was half-assed. He puts the blame on the television crewmember.

If that’s not deserving of a one game suspension, then I’m not sure what is. What a poor decision by Davonte. Frustrated or not, you just can’t do that.

Did anyone see this angle? Won't justify what Adams did but I might be OK with just a fine after watching it from basically over his shoulder, it does seem like the camera man, sound guy ran right in front of him or almost into Adams and it sure doesn't look like Adams was seeking out a defenseless victim but the overhead camera shot looks much worse than watching it as if you were walking thru the tunnel into the locker room

It doesn't look as bad but I don't think it will (or should) matter. The guy cut him off and he elected to walk through the guy out of frustration. For context, I'm not an athlete with elite start/stop reflexes but I do this at Costco all the time.

That angle does not justify the push. There was no reason for Davonte to do that.

I know Doc but the guy almost runs into him and if you watch that angle over his shoulder, Adams is looking down at the ground, he never saw that guy running at him and might not have known in real time what was happening. Adams didn't run into the crew guy.

Fine yes
Suspension, I've changed my mind

I don’t think a suspension is warranted either but still a dumb move.

Next time Davante will know to instead pour his heart out about his feelings regarding the positioning of cameras.

I kid, but it seems a bit extreme regarding suspension. Just fine him.

Let's also say that those NFL fans that watched the entire game and didn't just wake up, see the shove and post a twitter reaction, if you saw the whole game and then you put yourself in. Adams shows walking into that tunnel, head down, 1-4 record with all 4 losses by 6 points or less and you are a skill guy that wins football games and you are not getting enough targets...now let's run that 8 second video a few times and see how egregious that shove was.

It disgusted me when I saw the overhead/side camera it looks bad. When you look at it thru Adams POV, I can see why he might have thought for a split second it was a fan coming out of the stands especially since they threw beer at the Raiders walking into halftime.

Just some perspective and I appreciate you letting me unwrap this entire thought.

I've slowed it down frame by frame, it's amazing how long 8 seconds can be. He clearly reaches out and puts his hands on the very young looking crew man, grabs him by the shoulder and it wasn't a hard shove but certainly a man of smaller statue like this person, he almost bounced off Adams.

Aren't there people paid to keep that tunnel and the entrance clear so players can get on and off the field without being hassled?

I am glad there is another angle, because that looks less egregious. Wrong instant reaction regardless, but essentially looked like the camera guy walked right in front of him.

Shoved the wrong guy - should have been tossing Derek Carr around for being such a schmuck.

Carr is one of the worst QBs in the league. I've never been high on him. I really don't know why Adams would leave to play with Carr. Carr is skittish, reluctant to throw receivers open, holds onto the ball for way too long. I really don't understand the 2 point conversion by McDaniels. It's frustrating to watch a team with so many weapons and a run game gashing the KC defense for huge yardage and still come up short. In totality, Derek Carr is the problem... Adams should have never shoved that camera guy either. Be a professional, show some restraint and resilience...

TMZ reports the photographer shoved to the ground by Davante Adams on Monday Night Football had filed a police report against Adams.

Adams pushed the photographer -- who claims he was injured -- as he made his way to the Raiders locker room following a devastating Week 5 loss to Kansas City. The photographer went to the hospital after the incident, TMZ reports. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero said Tuesday morning that Adams could face a suspension for shoving the man -- a potentially major setback for the Vegas offense in what is quickly becoming a lost season. Adams apologized for pushing the photographer, but this is clearly not going away any time soon.

I hope the cameraman isn't severely injured from his brush with death.
No one has suggested the guy was hurt, seriously or otherwise. It shouldn't have to be said, but that really isnt a factor here.
He himself suggested he was hurt by going to the hospital.
And what does that matter? No matter the spin, camera angle, lame apology, etc. Adams was in the wrong and the rest is window dressing.

You’re acting like he should’ve been just fine. He was pushed down hard on concrete. Maybe the guy has a recurring back issue or a hip issue or any number of things that could have been tweaked by a fall on concrete.

It should be noted that while I wont pretend to know anything about the worker, I have seen employees involved in "incidents" at work that were required to go to the doctor even when they didnt want to.

I watched the video of the push. I thought it looked bad and then I read that he apologized. The apology is worst than the push and made the push look even worst for me. Why apologize if you really aren’t going to apologize?

I hope the cameraman gets some of Adam’s bling.

As an Adams fantasy owner, I really need him to play but I think he will be suspended one game. Anything to tilt the spotlight away from the concussions and subsequent over correction by the league and officials.

Carr is such a huge departure from Rodgers. The amount of inaccurate and under thrown balls is ridiculous.

Oh, come on now...really?

While its certainly within the realm of possibility that the photographer was injured and required a hospital visit, color me skeptical until more information is known.

One of my closest friends' wife is an elite-level photographer who has been shooting sporting events, concerts and all sorts of chaotic celebrity-laden gatherings for 20+ years. People in that line of work are made fully aware that they are putting themselves at risk when agreeing to work in those environments. There might even be 'held harmless' clauses in their employment agreements. I don't know about that, I'm just speculating.

I sure hope this is vetted to the 'nth' degree before any action is taken against Adams' playing time, or finances.

...and pardon me, if my comment triggers anyone.

ETA: I'm not condoning the push. Adams shouldn't have done that...

...but there's context involved, and a sincere apology should be enough to get past this.

From the timing of how close the guy was to Adams, cynical minds could infer that he was there to intentionally wack into Adams.
maybe looking for his celebrity payday, which is how it is playing out

fueled by the Twitter mob calling for Adams head

Oh my gosh.... Bad decision? Absolutely

Close to what Donald did at TC practices? Nope. maybe 2% as dangerous/serious. Its his first offense doing anything-- not like hes Richie Incognito or Mile Evans

Fine him & move on.
Not sure how many times this has to be said, but the NFL doesnt discipline for issues at practice. That is on the team.
Comparing the incidents is ridiculous.

Did you read/listen to his apology? Certainly did not read as sincere.
