Haha me too. I even have better options like Pryor and Adams and I still can't sit him.Why can't I sit him. I always think this is the week we see DeAndre of 2015.
Same, it's bad. I have to play him this week due to Pryor being on a bye (luckily I've already clinched a playoff spot so it doesn't matter), but I'm not sure I can start him in the playoffs. Why can't I sit him. I always think this is the week we see DeAndre of 2015.
Another great matchup, but I doubt Brock will be able to capitalize.Any hope this week vs GB?
He's going to get you 10-13 pts in a PPR regardless of opponent. If that's ok, then go ahead and start him.Any hope this week vs GB?
Seriously?!? Its sky-blue, duh.If you say the sky is blue, somebody wants to take exception with you.
Well he was hurt and September counts.
This is the week you have been waiting for..
That's twice in twelve hours. What's the formula for this incantation? You planning on posting it 8 more times before kickoff Sunday.this is the week--please don't bench him
Trusting his talent man... As my second flex on a stacked team-- I still trust him to get in the end zone more than my alternate options like Dixon, Garcon, etc. If not-- Ill take his 50-60 yard floor each week. he's clearly not what I was hoping for-- but he isn't killing MY team. That's twice in twelve hours. What's the formula for this incantation? You planning on posting it 8 more times before kickoff Sunday.
I benched him last week for Adams, Moncrief and Thomas. I even started two TEs (Eifert & Olsen), which might be a first for me.
Let's look at some other + matchups Hopkins had this year:
DeAndre Hopkins is the WR32 in PPR on the season, WR40 on a PPG basis. Over the last 5 weeks, those ranks are WR 55 and WR54. He's not even a WR4 in FF right now.
- CHI (2nd most FFA ppg to WRs) 8 targets 5-54-1 acceptable week 1
- KC (1st most FFA ppg to WRs) 11 targets 7-113-1 at this point we're thinking "not a monster game but week 2 is probably his floor most weeks." Bahahahahaha
- TEN (4th most FFA ppg to WRs) 6 targets 1-4-0 week 4 was a weird aberration; that'll probably never happen again. Probably.
- IND (12th most FFA ppg to WRs) 15 targets 9-71-0 week 6 is when I realized it's not going to happen with this QB. It's astounding how inaccurate he is on simple throws.
- DET (22nd most FFA ppg to WRs) 7 targets 4-44-0 week 8 is when I realized Osweiler is a worse QB than Casey Keenum. Yes I'm serious.
- @OAK (6th most FFA ppg to WRs) 6 targets 5-58-0 week 11 is when I realized Brock has no vertical game right now. I watched him last year and early this year, but not now.
- SD (20th most FFA ppg to WRs) 10 targets 5-70-0 week 12 another dud.
- @GB (8th most FFA ppg to WRs)
Last season, Nuk had 8 games of 23.4 pts or better in full PPR. That was with four different QBs - no WR ever had 100 yard games with 4 different QBs in the same season. Phenomenal production. This season he has one game of 16.6 pts or better.
Legit Q - WHY WOULD ANYONE START HIM? Failing to understand the concept of a sunk cost is one viable reason

I refuse to believe that a professional organization that is in contention for the playoffs would have this philosophy.I wonder if his contract talk before the season has any effect on his usage? The same thing seemed to happen with Alshon. Guy is vocal about contract, suddenly is not a goto player in the offense anymore with different role? Jeffery might be injury related and this is a stretch, but it sure seems like teams might be saying "oh, now you want huge dollars after we overutilized you? We can fix that for next off-season..." That would be unlikely if the team is trying to depress resigning value, but more likely if they are thinking they need their offensive plans to move on from overusing a player they can't pay.
It's totally a stretch. For the Bears who knows... Alshon could be on Foxes #### list for not practicing enough or something.I refuse to believe that a professional organization that is in contention for the playoffs would have this philosophy.
Judging by history, the Texans are loyal to their players and coaches to a fault. Osweiler will likely start next season. They'll say he just needed time to adjust to O'Brien's system or some bs company line.serious question: do you think they play Savage at some point in the near future? I don't know the structure of Oz's contract, but I can't see them rolling with him again next year...Savage can't be worse

That was dumb.joey said:Just dropped him for Taylor freakin Gabriel. How the mighty have fallen. I can find 6 or 7 points (non-ppr) on the waiver wire every single week.
Thanks for nothing, first round pick...
I didn't drop him but probably benching him for Gabriel this week - Just got him off the ww. I have Baldwin, Marshall, S Smith and Gabriel and must win this week. Hopkins has had a decent floor but just so little upside. Even in my half point PPR league he has been less than mediocre.joey said:Just dropped him for Taylor freakin Gabriel. Exactly the kind of guy I like to drop and hope my opponent in the playoffs picks him up and starts him against me. I'm serious, this is the worst kind of player to own - someone who is consistently ranked very high but puts up crap stats due to a bad situation/team/QB/whatever. Injuries can derail your season, but at least you can drop an injured player and move on with a replacement. A healthy under-performing "stud" is hard to let go, but sometimes you have to.joey said:seriously though....only 2 weeks left in regular season short bench 12 team redraft league, a dude that's put up 4, 4, 5 and 7 points the last 4 weeks, for a guy that's put up 12, 13, 13, 21 his last 4 weeks. At some point (now) it's time to get guys who are ACTUALLY scoring points as opposed to guys who should be scoring points but aren't.
and then you get teased with an easy ROS...LittlePhatty said:Exactly the kind of guy I like to drop and hope my opponent in the playoffs picks him up and starts him against me. trade maybe is your best hope. he's not going to get cut. he's arguably their best weapon. they'll make adjustments in the offseason to help osweiller and hopkins.ffldrew said:Do I read his contract right - due nearly 8M next year no dead money on the last year of his contract. What are the chances HOU cuts him loose? If your QB is crap why invest in this guy ? Go out and buy better O Line?
This can't be serious.ffldrew said:Do I read his contract right - due nearly 8M next year no dead money on the last year of his contract. What are the chances HOU cuts him loose? If your QB is crap why invest in this guy ? Go out and buy better O Line?
Traded him about a month ago for Jordan Howard, and could not be more happy about that. What about him scoring on his 2nd and last catch of the day screams "get him back in your lineup folks!" other than wishful thinking?
It looks like it's going to be a collision course to me. He'll want to be paid and a new contract in the TY Hilton/DThomas neighborhood is probably where he'll be looking if not AJ Green territory. He'll think he is worth that and if Texans want to try and pay him for 75 catches/850 yards/5 TDs he's producing this year they aren't going to pay him in that area - can you pay him based on his potential with Brock in at QB - will he even want to stay for that matter?. You can get that crap performance for a lot less than the 8M he is due next year. They can cut him loose and they have that 8M cap savings. This can't be serious.ffldrew said:Do I read his contract right - due nearly 8M next year no dead money on the last year of his contract. Guess I should have put a "What about him scoring on his 2nd and last catch of the day screams "get him back in your lineup folks!" other than wishful thinking?
" in my post for clarity.
