WR DeAndre Hopkins, BAL (3 Viewers)

DeAndre Hopkins caught 7-of-13 targets for 120 yards and one score in Houston's Week 14 no-show against the Broncos.

Game script worked in Hopkins' favor since the Texans were staring down the barrel of a 31-3 deficit to start the third quarter. Kenny Stills (2/8) was on the field as a full-time player for Will Fuller (hamstring, out), but it was Hopkins who continued being fed without the latter; he's now averaged 12.2 targets in four games without the burner available on the opposite sideline. Hopkins nearly walked away with a second touchdown in garbage time but it ultimately bounced off his helmet after being tipped by S Kareem Jackson. He'll continue to be ranked as a top-five option against the Titans in Week 15 if Fuller remains out.

Everyone that has him in redraft drafted him with they first pick.

5 of his 8 games so far have been 16 pts or less, 2 of them single digits. Full ppr

Its been more disappointing than not
#3 WR in PPR.  29 points in first week of the FF playoffs.  I can see why you were so disappointed.

I don’t know what’s sadder, the “bumping 2 months old posts shtick” or the fact that you remember something I posted 2 months ago

And I wasn’t wrong

Hopefully next time you and the other guys who complained about Hopkins will look at more meaningful stats to evaluate a player.

There were weeks where I had wrs on my bench that outscored him btw. So I guess I should have benched him a few times
Why are you posting this after the fact?  You didn't know exactly when to fade one of the consistently best WRs in the league which is why you didn't do it BEFORE the games started.

Olamide Zaccheaus outscored Chris Godwin this week in PPR.  I guess I should have benched the #2 WR on my one team  now that I know the fantasy points they scored.

Two things.

1. Post links when you make accusations.

2. Understand the "told you so" victory laps are pretty weak.
I did post links to people saying to drop/bench him.

Hopkins finished as the #2 WR in 2017, #2 WR in 2018, and is currently the #3 WR in 2019.  People seriously suggested that one of the most elite and consistent WRs in the league be benched and/or dropped is absurd.

Also, not sure why I am getting replied to when I have people saying this to me:

Were you in prison for the last few months?

That has absolutely nothing to do with football.

If you see people posting stuff to you like that not about football, please report it. We don't want that.

Because you're being combative and difficult by bumping a discussion that was long over with. You're trying to start trouble.
Best to just ignore.  I remember him from the NBA thread in the FFA.  He's a troll and will bookmark posts you made months ago to call you out in an I told you so moment.   I must admit he has a good notebook but an unfortunate life.   Fortunately, his Golden State Warriors are trash this year so he's been pleasantly silent.

How is somebody supposed to know that's a joke?  When everyone was saying to bench him, were those jokes too?
Uh, because no one drops him lol?

As I said before, a case could be made to start someone else over him earlier in the season....you know, when this discussion that you for some weird reason decided to bump actually took place

Everyone please drop it get back 100% to football.

Before you post, look at what you've written and if it's about another poster, please don't post it.

DeAndre Hopkins caught 6-of-8 targets for 119 yards in the Texans' Week 15 win over the Titans.

Hopkins' second straight 100-yard game was his fifth of the season. After last week's volume-fueled affair, this one came on a more modest amount of looks with Will Fuller back in the picture. Hopkins entered halftime with just two grabs for 21 yards but took over in the third quarter. Hopkins' uneven fantasy campaign will come to a crescendo in Week 16 against the Bucs' barely-there pass defense. Buckle up.

I'm talking about a non-PPR keeper league. The capital expenditure to keep him in 2020 probably isn't worth it. His average points-per-game tier has a bunch of guys who were late round picks or early waiver surprises. There are better options for me. That's all I said.

He isn't matchup-proof like he was in the past. He's not getting forced the ball like he was. He's not the fantasy player he was a few years ago. Game scripts and coverage go against him and the team isn't supporting his production like it was in the past. He can get double-teamed and disappear for halves or entire games.
In non PPR, I will agree with you for your point.

His problem is, Watson doesnt force feed him like Brees does Thomas. I am a big fan of force feeding your studs. This isnt school, everyone doesnt have to get involved.

Whatever happen to the days of designing plays for players and not finding players to fit designs? That throw with Hopkins was a nice designa nd worked out, need way way more of Nuk getting the ball just for him to have it in his hands.

Hopkins was like those college teams that would work the RPI system in basketball. Numbers looked good on paper but they didn't get a bid to the tournament. WR3 but the majority of owners disappointed. He'll be on my DND list as long as Watson is there.

DeAndre Hopkins caught 5-of-9 targets for 23 yards in Houston's Week 16 win over the Bucs.

Houston's offense morphs into one of the league's worst whenever Will Fuller (groin) goes down and that's exactly what happened from the first quarter on. Hopkins tied Kenny Stills (5/57) for the team lead in targets but wasn't afforded any legitimate opportunities to speak of with Deshaun Watson fighting off constant duress after sustaining an ankle injury mid-game. The All-Pro wideout still registered his second consecutive season with 100 catches with Saturday's performance. Now that the AFC South is officially in the bag, Hopkins is doubtful to play prior to Houston's Wild Card matchup against an opponent to be determined.
Thanks for not forcing it to him Deshaun.

He's likely not the WR1 on this team next season
Huh? They don't have any premium picks due to the Tunsil trade, and even if they could draft one of the top rookies this year, they wouldn't unseat Hopkins immediately, and that's assuming they turn out to be elite in the first place.

If he didn't get hurt Fuller might have passed him this year. Who knows about next.
But Fuller gets hurt every year.  And if you think Hopkins isn't consistent enough boy do I have some news for you about Fuller.

2-69-0
4-40-0
5-51-0
3-23-0
5-44-0
1-6-0
1-8-0
5-61-0
2-11-0

That was 9 of Fuller's 11 games this year.

I get you might be frustrated by a bad week for Hopkins. And at the same time, I would caution you against selling low on him in a dynasty league. He’s a locked in top 3 (arguably the 1st) WR overall in 2020

The amount of time people spent complaining about a top 5 WR is bizarre.  There were so many other 1st/2nd round drafts that were major busts this year (ODB, JuJu, Conner, etc).

I'm in a keeper league, and like I said earlier, the capital expenditure to keep him is probably too high compared to many of my other options.

That said, why do you think he's "locked in" as a top 3 next year when he's currently not in the top 5 this year, behind many guys who played fewer games?

And I don't think anyone is going to argue that he should be #1 over Thomas or Evans.

I'm not frustrated by one game. I've had him for years. I just see where it's going, I see he's going to be a year older, I see the threats from his team, and I see I have better options.
He’s locked in because my eyeballs have seen him play over the years. Anyone can have a bad game. It doesn’t mean he’s lost a step.

if Fuller didn't get hurt?

Yeah, let's complain about Hopkins that didn't miss a single game but Fuller is amazing in those games he played 10 snaps before leaving with another injury.

You also wanted to trade Lamar Jackson after one bad game so yeah...
