I may be in the minority, but much like the Brees thing a few weeks ago. I don't really see the big deal here. I mean, yeah, he probably should have just said nothing, but I really detest this idea that people should lose their jobs for saying things, that effect nobody.

If Jackson were somehow supporting Hitler, and actually making some kind of call to arms or whatever, then sure I'd see the big deal. This is just someone saying a stupid thing they haven't thought through. I don't see that as a big deal, worth losing his job over. Hell, our President has said just as bad of things almost daily.

To the same point I am making, I do see it as a big deal. Yes, absolutely it was stupid and not thought out. But regardless of intent, age-old hate speech still gets spread.
The fact that you have someone in office who says/does equally as bad things almost daily is not the right comparison to bring up. Saying racist things isn't somehow better because someone else says more racist things more frequently.

Right. Like I said, we are on different spots on the sliding scale of "how wrong he is". Some people think "more wrong" than even you do probably. We both think he screwed up, your view of how wrong he is isn't any better than anyone else's including mine.
And he didn't "Say" anything. More wrong information being spread.
The law disagrees with you in your statement that 'intent' doesn't count towards "how wrong" someone is. I believe it does. I, and the law, believe that the intent of his actions dictates the degree of wrongness someone has.

1. Saying something is 100% your own thoughts and words that you formed. There's no grey area. RE-posting something on social media does not mean you agree with everything written. It could mean there's a few good points in there you liked. Or you liked the author. I think we've all 'shared' something that we don't agree 100% with every single word of.
Sub Question: How do you know how much time he took to post it? It could have been something someone sent him, he glanced over and clicked re-post.
2. I don't. Do you? Neither of us do, so we are both making assumptions. Based on many factors (his history, his responses, etc.), MY view is strongly that he is not pro-Hitler. You're welcome to take the opposing view.

No need for us to go round and round about this again...I just feel when it involves a genocidal maniac like Adolph Hitler there really is no middle ground or misunderstandings as to what he stood/stands for and I would assume anyone who spent three years at a prestigious college would fully understand this especially when discussing Jews.

Man, whole lotta dudes in the NFL that went after Brees hard right after he said what he said are totally quiet on this one. I do think Brees was ignorant in what he said, but he at least seems to have realized it, and I do think that what he said was more out of ignorance than racism. What Jackson posted was straight up racist and there are other players, mostly in the NBA, who are agreeing with and/or defending it including Stephen Jackson and Kevin Durant.
Refusing to speak out against this garbage after you’ve been so vocal against other more innocuous comments is a bad look. Stephen Jackson damages his credibility when he’s been a very prominent BLM spokesman and then turns around and agrees with such a horribly racist thing. Roger that. While I'm not sure what he meant if he truly said "racism is at an all time high" I can say with certainty the documentation of it is at an all time high. Can't say "fake news" to actual video, like the event in Bloomington, IN over the weekend. 20 years ago that would not have even made the local news.

Good move by the Eagles.... PR stunt or not, they are turning this awful situation into a positive and spreading education, and pushing Desean to speak out further about this. He's also donating some of his salary to the jewish community. Good job all around... let's hope this acts as a lesson to him and others.

It just feeds into the stereotypes that sadly, in my experience, are way more true than we'd like to believe. The tension between black nationalism and Jewish people is real. I don't know where it comes from, other than the Middle Eastern influence of the Koran upon black nationalists like Nation Of Islam, etc.
Scratch the surface of a Nation Of Islam guy a bit and you'll likely find some anti-Semitic comments or apologies for those comments sure to follow. That's my experience.
As for people talking about Brees, Brees offered nothing like that. He said it was unpatriotic not to stand for the flag. That applied to everyone, not just BLM or its adherents. Two totally different things. One was universal. The other was Farrakhan quoting Hitler talking about Jews.
That's way, way beyond what Brees did.
