WR Equanimeous St. Brown, SF (2 Viewers)

His full name is Equanimeous Tristan Imhotep J. St. Brown.

Equanimeous means calm, composed, and even-tempered in stressful situations.
Imhotep from The Mummy was certainly those things

Seems odd this has generated so much negative posting.

He probably won't make the team. But with questions in the SF wide receiver room, it seemed like something some people might want to know.

I don’t see negative posting. I see realistic / neutral posting.

He’s not exactly a news-worthy addition. His best year was 21/323/1 with Chicago.

As a 49 fan I see him as a placeholder for when the rest of the receiver room is healthy. When that happens, at best he’s going to be behind Jennings, Aiyuk, Pearsall, Kittle, CMC, and probably also Robinson, Cowing & Watkins for targets.

I’m sorry, but is that supposed to generate excitement or positivity among FF enthusiasts?

The laughing about there was a reason there was no thread seemed odd. I assumed I think wrongly that more people cared about every player in camp. No worries. Was just trying to relay some of the things we were talking about in the Staff Basecamp that I hadn’t seen here.

All good.

Honestly I thought the same joke before seeing that post. When a guy's been in the league for what, at least three years or whatever, and still doesn't have a Shark Pool thread ... probably below JAG level. It doesn't mean he or the news is totally irrelevant, just a funny observation with some truth to it. Sure, if they're very shorthanded when week 1 rolls around, no one can say St. Brown couldn't be a thing. But unlikely.

Much of our staff chatter about this was just trying to stay on top of the 49ers wide receiver room, which is one of the more interesting ones we’re watching this summer I think.
Slow day ?
Not at all. Actually a super busy day. We just try to cover everything as some of our customers want to know every little detail and we try to have a total picture for them.

I don't remember ever being high on him, but that's just me I suppose. Anyone else remember being high on ESB?
Honestly the 1st time I’d ever heard of the guy was watching a Bears game & saw him make a couple decent grabs. Looked into whether he was a FA in a couple of my leagues & just couldn’t bring myself to drop anyone for him at the time.

There is a reason he didn't already have a thread.
True but I am actually surprised he didn't from back in the day. He was a guy the fantasy community was high on and the NFL draft really deflated that hype.

Dan Hindery had him as his #6 devy player: https://www.footballguys.com/article/hindery2017devytop100

I totally remember him being a very relevant name in the rookie draft whatever year that was.

He definitely was someone people in dynasty/fantasy were excited about. However, rumblings were coming that the NFL wasn't as high. There was the talk about he refuses to stretch and then of course he fell pretty far in the NFL draft and that killed the buzz.

ETA: also looking back he had a big sophomore year (900/9) but was a disappointment as a junior (500/4) though I think he had some pretty bad QB play his junior year. He still led the team even with Chase Claypool. Talk about two very interesting athletic prospects who never fired. Chase was 6'4" 238 running a 4.42 and ESB being 6'5" 215 and running 4.48.

Okay I'm gonna have to admit being very wrong here. I dug out my old notebooks and found my 2018 rookie draft scribblings. I had ranked my top players at each position, the WR list has 18 names (although 5 were veteran free agents available in our draft), and St. Brown is absent. Went undrafted in our rookie draft. Was the 25th WR selected in the NFL draft. If I had guessed what those answers would have been, I would have been wayyyyyy off. Maybe his name just sticks out in my memory becuase it's such an unusual one.

I think he was more a devy guy and by the time the draft came around his stock had tanked.

Good find.

Good find.
Wasn’t much detective work really. Just searched his name by thread title to really see what was out there. I thought he
had more hype than he did going into the draft but seems like everything after his sophomore year went went poorly for him and he fell off the map hard.

It's not negative.

It's accessing the wisdom of the crowd.

If this guy was any good someone would have made a thread to talk about him before now.

There was a thread, it just wasn't found until @Ilov80s
