Dynasty stud in the making
I've never seen almost the entire redraft, best ball and dynasty world so deeply look past a WR taken in the middle of the 1st round before. Then all he did in camp was from day 1 lock down the WR2 role on the team. Still it was crickets. I think that's on the community more than on Jahan.Drafted him late in one dynasty. Might sell high. This was against the Jags afterall...
He went from an afterthought to people writing articles about him having a special season in under 24 hours.
I kind of liked the landing spot since McLaurin was coming to the end of his deal and it wasn't clear at that point if Washington was willing to commit a lot of money to him. I thought they could have seen Jahan as the McLaurin replacement. I do agree landing in Washington isn't great for anyone though. My excuse (in May) was that I thought McLaurin's presence made it a bad landing spot. I think a lot of people had the same take along with general disdain for the Commanders.
Dotson was a 4-star recruit in the 2018 Penn State recruiting class. Not sure the math makes him a fifth-year senior.Jahan is 5'11". That's the only reason the dynasty community slept on him other than his undergraduate stats and that he was a fifth-year senior. Other than that, there was no reason to be down on him. None. I passed on him for Isaiah Spiller back in May, and Lord, and if I had been able to catch camp reports...
woulda been on my club.

It’s because we saw all the fantasy rookie rankings pre-draft so we all “knew” he shouldn’t be going that early. I took him at 1.10 or 1.11 in one league but will admit I didn’t feel great about it. The NFL draft is mostly an efficient market, and it’s best we learn that.I get that he was "overdrafted" because mock drafts had him late first or early second. So he went 10-20 picks earlier than expected. Funny how that makes people more dismissive of him instead of more interested. Also, what is wrong with being 5'11"?
And I am not trying act like I know it all. I wasn't aggressive with him for redraft and he also could have had the best game of his career. It just seems like a case of mass delusion where everyone decided to pretend he wasn't the 16th pick in the NFL draft.
it's one game , but he looks pretty good so far. lots of mouths to fees in this offense which should cap his target and rec total.
Not sure the math makes him a fifth-year senior.

Jahan Dotson is kinda insanely good already. The patience on the route to get the DB to commit outside, creating space to break inside is good. But the catch is just incredible. Check the end zone angle
That TD pass from wentz was so bad. Great catch.
Kid looks good! He fell in my lap in FAAB last week for 10.5% budget, and I’ll prob put him in for Evans this week. Let’s go! Choo choo!!
What is odd is the snap count between those 3 is upside down from the target count. He remains very TD dependent so far, but I can't imagine him not taking over Samuel as the #2 before the halfway mark of the season.
Idk if he'll take over Terry anytime soon though. Draft capital talks, but so does a $71M contract extension they just signed McLaurin to.
WilsonHow do you stack these guys for next 4 weeks and ROS?
Dotson
Wilson
Olave
I'd go Wilson, Olave, Dotson.WilsonHow do you stack these guys for next 4 weeks and ROS?
Dotson
Wilson
Olave
Dotson
Olave
I'm not sure I read that at all. After week one we would have thought Landry was 1a or 1b.But that depends if Winston is the guy throwing Olave the ball. After this past week, it seems he has the #2 WR job locked down.
Wilson will eat with either qbAre we discounting the fact that Zach is coming back for Wilson's prospects?
Garrett is available in one league I'm in. I don't expect to bid enough to get him.Are we discounting the fact that Zach is coming back for Wilson's prospects?
This season?Zach has looked nothing but completely overwhelmed

Snaps:
1. Dotson
2. Terry
3. Samuel
Targets:
1. Samuel
2. Terry
3. Dotson
Jahan Dotson caught 2-of-8 targets for 10 yards in the Commanders' Week 3 loss to the Eagles.
It was Dotson's first disappointing outing following two solid weeks in Washington's pass-heavy offense. The rookie, who had seven catches and three touchdowns in the first two regular season games, had a bad drop in the fourth quarter on what would have been a 20-yard completion. He can be excused on a day where the entire Washington offense was dysfunctional and generally disinterested. Dotson should be treated as a WR3 option in Week 4 against the Cowboys.

Speaking on Monday, Commanders HC Ron Rivera said Jahan Doston (hamstring) could be out "a week or two."
Dotson downplayed the severity of his injury following Sunday's loss to the Cowboys, but it sounds like the team has doubts about him suiting up in Week 5. The Commanders are set to take on the Titans this Sunday and then face the Bears on Thursday night in Week 6. Wide receiver Dyami Brown took over in Dotson's absence on Sunday but can be kept off the fantasy radar. Terry McLaurin and Curtis Samuel could see an increase in targets if Dotson is sidelined.

Jahan Dotson (hamstring) is out for Week 5 against the Titans.
Dotson never had a real chance to suit up this week after hurting his hamstring last week against Dallas. Dyami Brown, who posted a 40 percent route participation rate last week with Dotson sidelined and saw four targets against Dallas, should operate as Washington's WR3 this Sunday against Tennessee. Dotson's absence will open up more targets for Terry McLaurin and Curtis Samuel.

Speaking Monday, Jahan Dotson (hamstring) said he can't "put a timetable" on a return.
The Commanders have a quick turnaround in Week 6 as they prepare for a Thursday night matchup with the Bears. Barring any unexpected news, Dotson will likely miss the team's next game but could be back in Week 7 against the Packers. Second-year receiver Dyami Brown, who went for 2-105-2 against the Titans should continue to see work in Dotson's absence.

Jahan Dotson (hamstring) did not practice Tuesday.
Combine that with Dotson saying he can't "put a timetable" on his return and he sounds unlikely to be up for Thursday Night Football against the Bears. Dotson has a chance to come back for Week 7 with the mini-bye, but he may be an IR candidate.

Jahan Dotson (hamstring) is out for Week 6 against the Bears.
Dotson missed Week 5 with the hamstring issue as well. Cam Sims took the field for three-receiver sets last week, logging 25 routes in the process. It was Dyami Brown, however, who stole the show. Brown posted a 2/105/2 line on three targets. Splitting the WR3 role on a bad offense, neither player is worth a look in season-long leagues this week.

Jahan Dotson said he did tweak/re-aggravate his left hamstring. Says just needs a little rest and see where it goes. Said he'll be fine.
YesSo now with Wentz out for a while, what are we thinking of Dotson in redraft? I'm going to have to drop someone for a bye-week QB this week and it'll have to be a WR.
Here are my WRs (start 3 plus a flex):
Chase
Adams
ARSB
-----------
Olave
Pierce
Dotson
Leaning towards dumping Dotson over Pierce. What say you all?
Jahan Dotson (hamstring) is questionable for Week 7 against the Packers.
The questionable tag is a bit of a surprise after Dotson was forced to leave Thursday's practice early. He was reportedly feeling better today, but coach Ron Rivera said the team will err on the "safe side" with the young receiver. He is probably closer to doubtful than questionable.
