WR Jakobi Meyers, LV (1 Viewer)

Raiders coach Josh McDaniels said Jakobi Meyers (concussion) is “good to go” for Week 3 against the Steelers.

Meyers missed Week 2 because of the concussion but was back at practice on Wednesday. He was upgraded to a full session on Thursday and appears to be entirely cleared from the Raiders’ injury report heading into the weekend. Meyers racked up nine catches for 81 yards and a pair of scores in his Las Vegas debut. He looks like a strong bet for WR2/3 numbers as an integral part of McDaniels’ offense.

Just acquired him for Moss (redraft to JT owner). Seems like a high floor guy that is ranked too low IMO. Hopefully Jimmy G gets back in the lineup.

Fun's over it appears. Raiders offense is truly broken despite them having some really good weapons. Wonder if the lack of field stretcher is killing them.

I just offered him for DJ in a best ball dynasty league. Was turned down...I might be glad that happened :scared:

Who TF is DJ? Dionte Johnson?!? He of the no hands, no heart and 5 foot 180 QB Carol Panthers?

Lucky you offered this lifeline to a person looking to drown on the flooding rooftop.

Doubtful. Johnson is one of the best separators in the league and Canales is raving about him. Old man Theilen caught over 100 passes last year and Johnson is light years better at this point.

That said, I think Meyers is an excellent receiver but unless they trade Adams before the season starts (doubtful), I just don’t see him having a meaningful FF season in that offense. Raiders defense looks pretty good and they will probably be in the bottom 3rd in pass attempts. Plus adding Bowers will cut down his targets. Maybe next year when Adams is probably gone.

What is Jakobi going to do on the Raiders? Is there any reason to keep this guy? Thinking about picking up Losivas in Cincy for him. I'm afraid of Minshew's noodle arm.

Minshew is better than what they had last year. hes actually a very underrated player. but the team as a whole is not that good, so they will be playing from behind a lot.

this gamescript likely means a WR is gonna get a lot of garbage time points when the raiders are down 2 TD's in the 4th Quarter. Jacobi is a guy I expect to get a lot of those throws. I think hes a sneaky good pick at his ADP

I think this team actually is good in a sense that they are average / above average 8-9 9-8 way. They have core players on both sides of the ball. Just have a game manager as a QB. They have a RB that will grind away at defenses and they have a defense that will probably be fresh and make big plays when it matters. They also play in a division with really one contender. This team will be living in the 38-41 over unders all season long. This ownership would rather be wild card competitive than to tear the whole thing down and do a 2 to 3 year rebuild.

I don’t think this passing offense will be that crazy. I also think this team plays really hard for Pierce- he’s a “raiders culture” guy. I think they want to 12 personnel it and run the ball, RPO and take easier plays vs go for explosives. They just don’t have the personnel for that.

So, no, I think Meyers has replacement level PPR value with little to no upside for more pending injury to Adams or Bowers.

Jakobi Meyers, for whatever reason, is a guy that produces that no one wants to roster. The numbers bear this out. In PPR leagues:

2020 - ADP WR145 - Second half of the season ranking WR24
2021 - ADP WR59 - Finished WR30
2022 - ADP WR56 - Finished WR29
2023 - ADP WR53 - Finished WR24
2024 - ADP53

Here are the quarterbacks he’s had throwing to him in that time: Cam Newton, Brian Hoyer, Jarrett Stidham, Mac Jones, Bailey Zappe, Aidan O’Connell, and Jimmy Garoppolo.

That seems like he’s been pretty productive working with some less than stellar QBs.

It’s crazy but there always a good half dozen value guys that are second and third tier performers that no one wants at draft. These same owners will pay a fortune for tier one guys and rookies. Across two teams I drafted Christian Kirk, Chris Godwin, Khalil Shakir, Jerry Jeudy, Tyler Lockett, Brandin Cooks, DeAndre Hopkins and Jakobi Meyers as value plays. I’m not saying they are all second and third tier guys but I paid peanuts for them and surely some of them will finish Top 20-25.
